So my wife is giving her 2016 Lexus IS200 F Sport to her daughter. She wants a Jeep and we are looking at a 2021 Unlimited Rubicon, base price $43,320 , total price $60,585 .... it's the Unlimited Trim ...

It comes with 4.56s gears already and 35 inch Nitto Extreme Recons ...nice !!!!

Window sticker is below .... What do you guys think, good price for it? ... I personally think so because it already has the 35s, 4.56s to push those things around so it's ready to go have fun right away. I will of course be doing some ugprades but there is no need for a lift kit anymore, or tires, reg-gearing .... the extra money I can spend on it would be to upgrade to bigger lift, control arms, panhard ....

Would you guys pull the trigger?

Doesn't look like bad price. Cheaper than mine was.
Mine come with 4.10, it's also manual. for sure didn't come with Nitto tires.

Question, why not get 2022?

I'm also in Canada, mine was around $66k CAD with all options(miss discounts) I picked.

There are other ones but they don't come with wheels, re-geared to 4.56s and I don't see any 22s on their lot right now ....

I didn't even know they had an option to get 4.56s from the dealer that's what I like about this one

Ah. mine come with 17.
I've have bunch of jeeps over the years. I like this one. off-road with it often, also with my Rebel.
My wife drives it more than I do. Usually gets it stuck :)
In the spring, I plan on putting bigger lift on it, and snorkel kit.

Nice! .

I was looking at building and only the Rubicon and up you can get the 4.56s with 35s built but at over $70k lol ... still not bad .... but this 2021 is sure looking inviting now lol , might even get them to drop a few thousand since that is where I got my 2018 Ram 1500 , same dealer .... if it's still on the lot this weekend we are going to go check it out lol ....

I don't think those options come with manual.
What colour is it? or does that matter to you?

I like Ram Trucks, but like Jeeps more :)
They aren't for everyone. I can see by your sig you like to make changes :)
Older Jeeps were very easy, newer ones are bit harder, but still fun to make your own.

If you end up getting it, interesting to see any changes you make.

Who put the gears in and who put on the lift? What brands were used ?

Hunter !!! It's coming like that from the dealership, look at the window sticker I posted , so it will all for sure be covered by "their" warranty which is what is very appealing to me right now ... the only thing I am concerned about is the eTorque engine ...

Here is the window sticker ..

Wow, had no idea you could get 4:56 factory installed. My only advice would be to take it out on the hwy and make sure your wife likes the way it drives. Some say the steering wanders. I have been told the factory overfills the tires which is part of the issue so check air pressure before test drive. My jK, bought new, has 108000 miles on it. Nothing but maintenance, 0 repairs. But it’s a 2015 sport S 2 door. Totally stock. I have been toying with the idea of trading ram for a gladiator.

I had no idea either, I went online to build another jeep and you can only do it on the 2022 WRANGLER UNLIMITED RUBICON 4X4 from what I can see on their build site ....
Is this your first wrangler ?
I had an older jeep years ago but first for her ....

I would jump on it. the 4.56 and 35's package is coveted. 4.56 are nice factory and I believe jeep will allow 37's on that package without warranty implications.

Nice looking, invoice looks OK. But U need thoughts from "Jeep" PPL, I was never a jeep person. I did own a 74 Cherokee back in the day. That monster with the 360 Motor go ne where and pull ne thing. But U cannot compare a 74 to a 2021. The only "jeeps" I have ever driven to any extent be M151A2/3's when in the Military. Now that be a different experience, LOL. Got awful cold riding down the autobahns in the winter in those puppies back in the day.

I purchased a 2021 Wrangler JLUS (S = Sport) with the Willys option group on 2/5/21. It was stickered at just a bit over $47K.

Comparing the JLUS to the JLUR (R = Rubicon) there are some great options on the JLUR you don't get with the JLUS. Most are focused on off road performance with others being more of the comfort & convenience type available on a Sport or Sahara package. The JLUR is taller, employs different differentials, different gear options are available, has a bit wider stance as those axles are a bit wider, has a swaybar disconnect feature (push a button and the swaybar links disconnect providing more front axle articulation), 17x8" wheels vs. 17x7.5" on the JLUS (smaller on other packages) and that 4:1 Rock-Trac 4WD system is definitely desirable for off road use.

Your wife will find it rides rougher, it may exhibit more body sway than she is used to, it will be louder inside, she may find she needs step bars for easier access and it may pitch fore and aft a bit more than her previous vehicle.

I never had a steering issue as I believe the TSB that was issued was incorporated into production before my 2021 was built.

The tire pressure on the 35s may be set a bit too high by the dealer which will make the ride much rougher than it needs to be. I find mine, with the lift and 34s, likes to be right at 35 psi cold. It took all of a month for me to get rid of the Firestone M/T tires that came on mine. They sucked and they were too small. I replaced them with a full set of Toyo ATIII tires.

The JLUR you linked to would be a great off road vehicle and, if that is what you are planning to use it for, then go for it. The price is fair as long as they don't start tacking on AMV or a bunch of other stuff they try to add on for extended warranties, etching, security systems, etc...

If it's going to be used as a DD, commuter, mall crawler or a kid taxi and not do a bunch of off road work I'd suggest looking at a Sport or Sahara as the JLUR may be overkill and less suited your wife's use.

Good luck.

Yes. Same paint code as my 2017 Delmonico Red CTD with a different name.

Snazzyberry has been discontinued although it appears any 2021 model year orders in that color are being filled.
