Mine just a plain Jane silver. Lol. I do like the gecko green. Sadly, these days color selection is limited on dealer stock.

I purchased a 2021 Wrangler JLUS (S = Sport) with the Willys option group on 2/5/21. It was stickered at just a bit over $47K.

Comparing the JLUS to the JLUR (R = Rubicon) there are some great options on the JLUR you don't get with the JLUS. Most are focused on off road performance with others being more of the comfort & convenience type available on a Sport or Sahara package. The JLUR is taller, employs different differentials, different gear options are available, has a bit wider stance as those axles are a bit wider, has a swaybar disconnect feature (push a button and the swaybar links disconnect providing more front axle articulation), 17x8" wheels vs. 17x7.5" on the JLUS (smaller on other packages) and that 4:1 Rock-Trac 4WD system is definitely desirable for off road use.

Your wife will find it rides rougher, it may exhibit more body sway than she is used to, it will be louder inside, she may find she needs step bars for easier access and it may pitch fore and aft a bit more than her previous vehicle.

I never had a steering issue as I believe the TSB that was issued was incorporated into production before my 2021 was built.

The tire pressure on the 35s may be set a bit too high by the dealer which will make the ride much rougher than it needs to be. I find mine, with the lift and 34s, likes to be right at 35 psi cold. It took all of a month for me to get rid of the Firestone M/T tires that came on mine. They sucked and they were too small. I replaced them with a full set of Toyo ATIII tires.

The JLUR you linked to would be a great off road vehicle and, if that is what you are planning to use it for, then go for it. The price is fair as long as they don't start tacking on AMV or a bunch of other stuff they try to add on for extended warranties, etching, security systems, etc...

If it's going to be used as a DD, commuter, mall crawler or a kid taxi and not do a bunch of off road work I'd suggest looking at a Sport or Sahara as the JLUR may be overkill and less suited your wife's use.

Good luck.

Great feedback Maddog .... we are going to go check it out this weekend, but the Sting-Gray color is not one she likes lol ... she want's her in black so will have to order it anyways ... but I didn't know you can drop in the 4.56s from factory which is a huge plus as all that will be covered no doubt ...

She doesn't drive my truck right now because she says it's too big for her to see out of but I think the Jeep would be ok for her size wise as it shouldn't be as tall as my 1500 ...

Your Jeep looks B@D@$$ by the way, love Delmonico Red with black trim just goes perfect together ....

I had no idea either, I went online to build another jeep and you can only do it on the 2022 WRANGLER UNLIMITED RUBICON 4X4 from what I can see on their build site ....

I had an older jeep years ago but first for her ....
Again, take a good test drive. Coming from a Lexus, this will be a huge change. Other than that, it’s a good price. Hope she finds the color she likes! Check out tread lightly, the used to have an agreement with FCA and you could get invoice price. No idea if it is still in effect.

If you order, look into Corning glass. I’m on my 4th windshield. Seem to catch a lot stones. It’s a Jeep thing.

the 4.56's has to be ordered with a specific offroad package so it is like a $4000 upgrade but well worth it if you plan on going to 37's. also has a beefier front axle.

I wouldn’t, 4:56 really doesn’t matter with the eight speed. Too much $$. More than likely that your not gonna tow very much with a JL and would be in 4low off roading. 4:56 is pretty much useless.

Thanks @huntergreen , appreciate the pointers and what to look for, I did have her read the comments about the change that she will likely face being that she drove her lexus since 2016 lol ... she is well aware now and she says "shes a big boy" lol ...

Yes @retired I saw that you can only get it on the Rubicon trim and has to be the xtreme recon package which is a few dollars short of $4000 ....the front axle I noticed too .... thank you as well for you feedback

It's not about towing when you are going with bigger tires, I plan on putting 37"s or even 40"s on this jeep at some point so the 4:56s is very well worth the price even if you are not towing because

1) it is work they did and it's coming from factory like that,

2) the price for the xtreme recon package is only $4000 which is a lot cheaper than getting it re-geared outside having the beefier front axle and also the tires which are 35"s with the wheels ....

the extreme package alone is more than worth it like @retired mentioned above ... this Jeep is ready from factory to go have fun which is a plus ... I have a 1500 with 37s and I regeared it to 4.88s and I do no towing what so ever ..

I regeared to be able to pull those 37s without having to worry too much about any wear and tear if I would of just kept the 3.21s .... even if I had the 3.92s I would of regeared ... at first I was like you that if I didn't tow it was pointless, well it's not pointless believe me lol ....but thank you for your feedback/opinion

Mine is Green. I didn't know you could get those gears and tires. As I mentioned before it looks like it's for non-manual Jeeps.
Going to custom it, so in long run it won't matter. It would have been nice to get it stock though.

One thing I add though was steel bumper. Seen plastic ones... we would have broken it the first day.
7 Months old. Broke 2 windshields, popped 3 tires, destroyed front license plate(bad when your in Ontario)
Back passenger side pushed in a little bit, but it bumped out easy.

Yeah the 4.56s is only with the 8 speed 850RE eTorque 3.6L engine which I know nothing about ....
