Check engine light is on P0456- Evap leak. I’ve been told obviously to take to dealer for smoke test but really trying to come up with a solution that isn’t so costly. Ive been told it may be the fuel pressure sensor or to replace the fuel rail pressure sensor.

Any recommendations or ideas what it may be and what to do other then smoke test!?

Thank you in advance!!

Does anyone have any ideas which

It wouldn't be a fuel pressure sensor.
There is a EVAP or fuel tank pressure sensor that can go bad causing the issue. Also a bad fuel filler cap can cause EVAP leak issues.

Purge valve can easily be tested but alot of times on dodge trucks I find the rubber evap hoses will get dried out and crack, or split either at the end of a hose or if there is a 90° elbow near the charcoal canister it will suck in a pinhole and cause a leak.
Lay under the truck and trace out the evap lines and check all ends and connections. A visual inspection is an easy free start.
