That is sweet man, where did you find that? Young engine and probably mirrors the best ever uoa on the board for a hemi, I envy that hemi, lol. 5w20 isnt a bad move for hemi's at all, as long as it aint ticking.
I would still advise anyone I meet over here in Dubai to run Redline 5W30 on their HEMIs; just to be on the safe side.

So, it looks like RedLine's secret sauce to make good lube without spending a gazillion dollars on R&D is to pick the best base stocks and additive packages they can and blend them.

They've been working with Lubrizol from the very beginning. Everything they have going for them is high-quality base oils and additives. In 1986, Roy Howell, RedLine's Chief Chemist, moved from Lubruzol to RedLine Oil. And while I see the creation of the Professional Line as a brand dilution exercise, it was also more than likely a compromise so that their parent company, Philips 66, won't touch their high-end product line, which everyone here uses.

So no, the RedLine Oil High-Performance line isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Minor adjustments are made periodically to keep up with industry changes, of course.

Here is Roy Howell (I don't know why they publish these videos on FB only):

Lowering your HEMI's temperature in that 50C weather might also be advisable, and running good, high-quality oil, like RedLine Oil as is changing your other fluids more often. That's why I asked you about your thermostat and transmission earlier.

Nope, not for me. I'd rather deal with the summertime heat and humidity than that type of b a l l s freezing weather in the winter months.

The cold weather where I reside is tolerable, however how long someone has been living most of their life where weather is okay where they reside to them tends to be unknowingly acclimated and cringes of the thought of weather types in other parts.

I don't care for cold weather temps and having to drive in it isn't a good thing where I reside.

Or found on road dead. Had a 69 f150 with a straight 6, and it's almost not an exaggeration that I was working on it, if not every day, at least every other day. Fortunately it had a stripped down straight 6, there was so much room in the engine compartment I could crawl in and stand on the ground while working on it. Nowadays you can't even see the ground when you pop the hood.

I've been running 5w20 in mine since new. I had joined this Forum while still looking / and owned my 2005 4.7.

I went with Pennzoil PUP after the first 2 changes were with yellow bottle conventional.

I DID blend some 0w40 with 5w20 several PUP changes for a while because Burla had mentioned the higher Moly content.

I've been running Amsoil SS 5w20 for several years now with either their filter or (when they're out) the Fram XG10060 synthetic filter.

Slick, smooth and quiet, I've used Amsoil for many years in many engines and never had problems.

I also changed my transfer case with the Amsoil, and it's the auto BW 44-44 (auto) and it works great. Some people complain about the auto case, but it's actually my favorite for everyday use. Smooth and simple.

Some people just complain about everything...

What about Penzoil Ultra Platinum? Is it a good oil? I’ve heard it is but would like more info or opinions on it. I’m running an ‘07 with 210,000 on it. This truck is used as a city/highway truck and never gets loaded with anything.

The forum says number one oil on forum, who is anyone to argue against that?
