I still can't believe they just took your chair when you can easily look over and see that it's yours. What excuse did they give when you asked for it back?

I may put the chairs in the bed this year. We have a couple of high back folding camping chairs with the hard arms. We got them at Sam's. They weren't that expensive. But for Christmas I bought my wife a camping rocking chair. This I will put away.
PORTAL Oversized Quad Folding Camping Rocking Chair High Back Hard Armrest Carry Bag Included, Support 300 lbs, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N39LM6...t_i_HX439NZXVBHZPNC43BBQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I heard them, but didn't get up. It and they were gone when I got up about an hour later. Left the chair cover lying on ground next to it - so stupid they didn't even know what it was as it was lying on top. We just run a cable through everything now, not a problem but depressing. In 50 years of camping, never a problem before. Honestly, not even going this year. Hanging around house with some more projects on deck.

Sorry to hear that.

Wow, that is so sad, this world is getting more crazier by the minute, and you do have to protect yourself.

I get it. I've been having similar thoughts. We have several trips booked for this spring and summer, but I sometimes think this may be our last year. Not sure, probably not but the older I get and the harder the maintenance becomes...these thoughts come into my mind.....especially in today's environment where it's so hard to get nice sites and the CG is so crowded....

I don't want to throw it away, camping is one of the best experiences you can have. But like anything else, when you add a lot of unknowledgeable people to the mix it takes time for them to learn how to interact that kind of environment. I am hopeful that through attrition and learning things will get better. I do share concern though about how crowded campgrounds are getting and the changes that are being made as corporations buy up so many of them. I'm not sure how good or bad it is with new dynamic pricing and such, but there's something to be said for campgrounds being a place to get away from things where you can travel to touristy things if you want, versus the possibility that campgrounds will now become the destination itself. I like when they have movie night outside or a large campfire and other fun activities like that. I don't like when they have a water park in the middle that they sell tickets to the general public to come in. I'm not antisocial, it is just that the people who come in for the day for whatever activity it might be don't have the same awareness of how their presence affects others.

This is why we spend most of our times now at the motorized sites. Miles between them. Some are close together but still completely secluded from the next. So, you can still be neighborly if that is your thing.

Sure there are no amenities...but it is very easy to then actually use your camping setup.

I already shared some pics of the sites...here are some shots of the sites throughout the forest.

There are 2 campgrounds shown here too...for the people who like being in a campground as well. A great area to check out.

Are any of those at the PAGrand Canyon? I believe they have some remote walk in sites there?

First we are going to Caldwell, ID and spent one night there leaving there going to Rawlin, WY leaving there going to Oakley, KS leaving there going to Springfield, MO then going to Lebanon, TN and finally going to New Bern, NC and staying there for hopefully for two weeks, but we are hoping because they said that we could only stay one week because they are book up on that second week.

Hoping that someone will cancel so we would have to move, I look all around nearby and all of the picking is slim but we will see so while we there we are going to check out so more campground that will accommodate us.

My mother live in a little city call LaGrange, NC we can go to Goldsboro to Seymour AFB so we are going to check it out and see.

That sounds like a great trip BD. I hope you have good weather for the first parts where there could be snow this time of year. Hope you have a good, fun and safe trip.
