I am familiar with OBD2 ports. I used to use HP Tuners on my 2000 LS1 SS.
On my 2019 Ram I am using a hardware and software OBD2 port dongle for Weighing my Travel Trailer, hitch and payload..
It works. Without any additional hardware.
In reading about tuners and other aftermarket OBD2 addons. They mention the need for a by-pass cable.
My question is why does my Weight dongle work without any bypass. Also, does that mean an OBD2 "engine scanner" will work reading codes and parameters without the need for the bypass?? What does the "bypass" cable do?
Thanks for any info.
