Hey all, new to the forum. I have a 2014 1500 sport. Love my truck, most comfortable truck I have ever owned. I came from a hometown that was full of Mopar fanatics in the late 70's and 80's. I have owned my Ram for about two years. So far I have added fender flares, fuel crush 17" rims with bf goodrich ta ko 2s, Moog rear upper control arms, freedom off road rear lower control arms, new track bar, moog rear endlinks, new ngk iridium plugs.
This weekend I am about to do all new front suspension. I replaced the front strut assemblies in September with Moog strut assemblies and a 2.5" leveling kit. Darn struts are already leaking. I am a big fan of moog, but a leaking strut after 3 months just ticks me off. Especially since they won't honor the warranty because I bought them from Amazon. So anyway, since I have to replace them I might as well replace all of the suspension since I am there...darn;). Going with moog lower control arms, inner and outer tie rods, sway bar end links, timken bearings, new axle half shafts and new stub out shaft for the drivers side(cant find on for the passenger side). KYB truck strut plus strut assemblies- I had to search hard to find these in stock but I think it will be worth it over the kyb strut plus. To top it off I bought some JBA off road upper control arms with bolt in ball joint, these are beauties and they are made to work with my leveling kit, excited to get these on and hit my favorite fishing spot that is up 9 miles of 4 wheel drive road at 10,000' elevation.
I have a question which lead me here, I changed the plugs cause my wife could feel a miss at idle...yup my wife rocks!!. Anyway after changing the plugs I got a p308 code for a misfire in cylinder 8. Pretty sure it is the coil pack and I will know after I swap it with number 2 and see if the misfire follows. In any event I am looking to replace the coil packs. I have seen a lot of back and forth on MSD blaster coils, sultans of spark, MSD street fire etc. I am looking at a set of TRQ performance coils an wondered if anyone has tried these, from the few reviews I can find they seem okay, but, the review is only as good as the reviewer. I don't want to go cheep( TRQ's are $240), but if I go expensive I want something that will make a difference. Some of the conversations I read have left me feeling like the MSD aren't worth the $560 for the blasters and the $420 for the street fires, The sultans of spark look awesome, but, I don't really want to re-gap all of my plugs to .065. Also has anyone used pertronix flame throwers?

Nice truck and I would like to hear the answer to your coil packs question. I swapped the spark plugs last summer too, but kept OEM coil packs. There seems to be an occasional misfire at about 3000 rpm.

I bought the TRQ premium high performance coil packs this evening, found them on amazon for $201. I will update after I install. They claim 15% more energy.

I really like the coil packs, definite improvement over stock. Cant tell for sure on the economy as i added a leveling kit and bigger tires. But a noticeable difference in throttle response and power
