There have been some guys that help start this deal that found out a full sump helps stop tick. I go 8 quarts in mine, they go 7 and a half. But, since you are on a tilt, I'm not sure if that would be good or bad.
Well, I don't normally back in my driveway. I just happened to for some reason on day and discovered the tick was gone the next morning. So i've done it a few more times just to see if it always helps and it appears to. However, I still don't back in my driveway hardly ever. So I might try adding a little more oil if that seems to help.

*disclosure* I have not read every post in this thread but skimmed through it.

I’ve been feeding my Rebel a steady diet of Redline 5w30 through the larger RP filters for about the last 40k of its 65k life. Any harm to adding a bottle of Biotech to my oil changes? This truck is almost paid off and want to keep it for many years and the minimal cost of biotech for prevention every oil change isn’t bad if helpful.

Any feedback from other Redline folks would be great.

We do have many guys go against my advice and try this, with no ill effects, so there is that. I even tried it cause I am more curious then safe.

However, Id go risk reward and try to minimize risk and max benefits. Mixing esters is an unknown. Now, the % is thought to be well in the safe zone of 30%, but they might be two different type pf esters. Unless you have a ticking condition, I wouldnt risk it no matter how small the risk to seals/

Thanks Burla. Maybe I’ll go with 8qts oil given larger filter to ensure sump is full.

If you have MaxCare you should be using an oil that is approved. Mobil 1 does not meet the Chrysler spec. I just run PUP because it meets the spec and is good oil. I have MaxCare as well and keep a spreadsheet of when I changed my oil along with the receipts.
This was the first time M1 went in and it was because they did not have ANY Penzoil products so my wife went with M1. The prior oil changes were done at the dealer.

I found a gem rummaging through some stuff I got when my dad passed away back in 1994. I had to keep it as it brought back memories of a fun childhood growing up working at my Dad’s Gulf Service Station. He was a Gulf dealer for 30+ years. Here is a picture of him in 1959. In those days, there were no automatic nozzles. He taught me how to listen to change in sound when the gas was getting near the top of the tank. Of course that can of oil was from a much later time.

I added 15oz. to PUP 5w-20 and the engine seems quieter for sure, maybe a little smoother as well.

FWIW, my engine has always been quite, lubeguard seemed to help with that

Late post for this. But the Hemi tick is most likely not lifters with a short duration of 1 minute after start. My 2015 was doing the same thing. It was two broken exhaust manifold bolts on the right side.

So all Ram needs to do is build a decent quality engine, since engines have been built for something like 100 years. So they should have it down....but why do that when you can just build millions more and therefore the bad engine percentage of good versus bad can look better! Lol

Just added 15 oz Lube Guard yesterday at 34,685 miles. In the past I've experience a 5-10 second tick on startup and also at warm idle. All of it has been intermittent. Warm idle tick reminds me of piston slap.

I'll participate in the poll after 500 miles.

I think the Lubegard has made a difference! My engine is very quiet now and the random slap seems to have disappeared.

Changed my vote. Big difference for sure, but still have an intermittent"slap" once warm at idle. The engine overall is waaaay quieter though. Next time I change oil I'm going for Redline.

5w30 redline and a rp 20-820 filter, if that doesn't kill it I'm not sure what will. Give up to 1,000 miles before judging either way.

@Burla I know you are one of the more knowledgeable oil guys on the forum and im looking to add this stuff to my hemi with 90k miles. Its been a relatively quiet motor since new, but I'm really looking to add it more so for benefits associated with adding some extra moly to the PUP 5w-20 ( blended with 3 quarts of 5w-30 )that I use.

I opted not to purchase the LiquidMoly brand after reading some of the thread here about the suspension difference between the two products. I did however see that many seem to report that the LiquidMoly brand seems to help lower operating temps as well as increase fuel efficiency a little. Is there any conformation that the LubeGuard product does either as well?
