Does anyone else have a rattle when the truck shuts down cylendars in Econ mode? Mine is especially present when accelerating slightly in the econ mode.

Thanks,

me neither. eco is bad. They do kind of have a shutter under really low rpms when it swaps over though. that's when I hit the minus button.

I have a 2020 PW and I can not tell when it is in eco mode other than the green light comes on. I feel fortunate as I know many complain about it. I can toggle the light off and on with the steering wheel shifter buttons and feels and sounds the same with it on or off (if in fact the green light indicates it is on on)

Do you have a programmer if you can the change the modes some of them allow you to shut it off I think the one I have is a pulsar for my 2015 pw you need one to change the tires size to keep the transmission happy if you run bigger tires

Using the +/- buttons and selecting 8 disables it as well.
My 6.4L is much less noticeable than my 5.7L was though.
I never really bother with my PW but it was the first thing I did after putting it in drive on my 1500 Laramie...

I just use the +/- and set mine to 8 as soon as i start driving it everytime.
Yep. Thats my feelings. People whine about the simple process of having to do it, like its a huge burden…yet, its no different that having to push the start button before you can drive. Pretty soon people will ***** about that, cuz they just want to be able to hop in a say “truck, start please”…

I love eco mode. Makes a heck of a lot of sense to have it. Never had odd noises in the past 3 trucks that have it, including my new RAM. It does sound different, but only when I pay attention and it's quiet enough to hear anything else. Not a problem at all.

Keep in mind that RAM recommends at least 89 Octane fuel. So many stations sell 87 or lower as their norm. I've also never seen a modern V8 be silent on knocking with 87 or lower.

Also, this could be a good sign that there are other issues coming to your engine. Might have it checked out. Nice to have a pre-warning, rather than die on the road, which is another good note for eco mode.

PAGE 418 AND 425 of my owners manual both say my 2020 6.4 recommends 87. mine does not knock..
