Had to cave in and gas up today - in -6 degrees and wind, windchill -25F.

You'd think they'd have a robogas arm thingy be now, like they do on in-flight refuelers and garbage truck container dumpers.

I can't even comprehend those temps. It was 39 here at the house this morning with no wind and I was chilly lol.

Drove it to lunch with a friend. Think I finally found the cause of my intermittent squeak in the interior. Oh and did the same as most, put gas in it on one of the closest days we've had this winter. -4°F plus wind chill. Then had to get 15 gallons of diesel also for the garage heater. Stupid fuel cans our lovely government made, can't even put a diesel nozzle in a diesel can. Need to find a couple of the good old ones.

Come to Oregon. No self service gas, attendant does it for you so no getting out in the cold and/or rain. And its not as cold here also............

Hey guys
I have a 2016 3500 SRW 4x4. I had to change my heater core because it clogged and radiator cause it clogged. Has anyone one else had this problem with there Ram. It is a coolant problem from what I been told by dealer. And no solution but to change Hester core every year.

So I searched the forum for a thread like this and didn't find anything. I figured it would be fun to have a thread that everyone can watch what everyone is doing each week.

This week I put on Steelcraft nerf bars, and right now I'm getting the permaplating put on the truck. This way it gets a real good bath.
I had parked my truck in one of our bays, work nights at a moving company, to avoid having to clean off the snow/ mostly ice. I came in early the next day trying to convince myself to get some of the salt of my truck, it would be 18* by the time I could do it. We have a company that washes our trucks, but haven’t seen them in awhile, but when I got to work they were there. So for 10$ got most of the salt off, paint & suspenion, but made sure they skipped the broom to scrub. Liked this picture, the guy wasn’t very tall, but still made my truck look big.

This past weekend I was busy. Semi-major front-end overhaul. Just hit 200K miles a few weeks ago. It was in dire need..

Replaced all of the following:

1. Shocks/struts assemblies.
2. New CV axles both sides & intermediate shaft on driver side.
3. New upper & lower ball joints - both sides.
4. New hubs/wheel bearings.
5. New rotors & pads.

I know opinions vary about the Rancho shocks & leveling kit, but the Rancho set I replaced was 8-years old and one finally blew about 2 months ago. I don't do heavy off-road. I live about 5 miles off a paved road, so I do what I consider "light" off road on dirt/gravel roads. We'll see how the next set goes.

Upgraded the CV axles and hubs to something a bit beefier. Pleased with the quality. Time will tell.

Brakes. Went with the Powerstop coated rotors and ceramic pads. Did the bedding process yesterday and parked it. Headed out for work this morning and just about launched myself through the windshield when I went to stop with my normal pedal press! That will take a few days to get used to..

The one thing I was seriously worried about turned out to be a complete nothingburger. Pulling the CV axles. I picked up a CV puller hook for $20 at the auto parts store. Paired with my slide hammer, both sides came right off with three whacks. No torching, no cutting, no beating it from under the vehicle with a sledgehammer. I don't live in the rust belt, so that helps and I had been crawling under the truck every day for a week after work spraying PB Blaster back up into the shaft splines at the differential. The new CV axles went on without incident. Greased up the ends with some red grease, lined up splines and gave a good shove - "click". Removal and replacement of the axles took no more than 15 minutes, tops.

Now she's driving like a new truck. 75 MPH down the freeway and smooth as silk. Let go of the wheel and no pulling right or left. Running true. In ten years, I've never had to have my Ram aligned. :)

I can't say the same thing about the 2014 F1XX my wife drives. Going back to the 80's, I've never had a FxxD that could hold an alignment!
