There's a reason it looks like a Chevy. These renderings were based on the Chevy according to the article in your link.

Directly from the article..."In terms of aesthetics, all we can do is speculate, which is exactly what our talented friend Joao Kleber Amaral did in these exclusive renderings. They’re obviously based on the Silverado EV, but he did a good job on the front fascia and the slightly more futuristic and streamlined profile."

I'm not a fan of EV's in general, and definitely not the truck in those renderings. I'd be open to a plug-in hybrid, but have zero interest in an all electric truck.

I think it is great, room enough to put a generator to run as you need a charge, never stop for gas because you can get 12 hours easy from a geny. I bet a tesla cant carry it's own genny.

But yeah tired of the "group" of people that rule us with crappy designs.

I don't know why everyone is so electric vehicle happy ?

Say that you buy a brand new electric car for $35,000
Then you have to buy a Battery Charger or other power source. You would want to have 220 Volt, because it cheaper.
Now you have tripled your power bill.
When you are on a trip, where will you charge up ? Is there an armed guard at the location, because there are going to be irritated drivers that are in a rush & you are in the way.
Are those charging stations going to be open 24/7
You are forced to evacuate & you need to charge up to leave the area.
You have had your electric vehicle for 3 1/2 years, it is almost paid off & your Battery takes a crap. Do you buy another electric vehicle, or do you pay $15,000 for another battery ?

I’m glad I’m 70 and my ‘21 2500 Hemi will be my last truck. We’ll continue to pull the 5th wheel all over the country until I get tired of it in 5 years or so. After that I’ll find a mid 60’s Chevy short bed to restore and pizz off the neighbors with loud mufflers. :)

California's Governor just allotted major $$$ for charging stations

That means that they are going to force land owners to sell land

My brain is spinning :(

If they install a charging station along the highway
Someone will demand that a rest area with seating & tables & of course Internet be included

Wait till California has rolling black outs. Their power grid already suffers in the summer high heat. Add thousands of electric vehicles and they will wonder what happened. Our power grid all across the United States can't handle it. The whole state of Texas almost when dark when they got hit with that cold snap. Great concept but until batteries get better technology it's going to be a train wreck.

PS. Ram is the last truck to make a truck look like a truck. If they do make a electric truck they should keep the same look.

Vehicle electrification is a political solution, but to what?

I've seen a lot of noise about electric vehicles and commitments but have heard little to nothing about where the power is going to come from on the other side of the outlet. Let's talk about dead-head miles, miles driven looking for a charging station, the cost of electricity at a charging station (gouging sound familiar), the initial cost of an electric vehicle, the dreaded costs of battery replacement, and battery recycling (think about the Volt battery mishap).

I believe electric vehicles have a future, it isn't going to come from the happy political-based talk.

Were I Ram I would say aerodynamics be damned as making it a little better will just improve electric range probably not that much realistically and can just make the battery slightly bigger. Instead design it truly retro and a look that will scare children and wimpy looking other trucks alike. If they gotta go electric, style the stuff to look badass. I see the electric "skateboard" platforms as giving the designers free reign to make cars and trucks look better and more unique.

I'm not interested in electric but why do electric vehicles have to be ugly too? Do something retro that may change some people's minds. You could put a Hemi with a blower sticking out of the hood and I still wouldn't be the least bit interested in these ugly designs they are doing to electric vehicles! Give us something, electric and ugly isn't going to do it for me, sorry!

If city people want to drive Makita-mobiles, well good for them. I am not against developing EV as an additional, viable alternative, BUT we need an all-of-the-above approach in the short to medium term at the very least. For all the hullaballoo, huge subsidies, and bravado what are EVs about 2% of the fleet? There are huge obstacles to overcome. If you take away the money that Muskellenge has made selling carbon credits, another government scam, he has likely not made one red cent actually selling automobiles. Trying to force this in unrealistic fashion is going to be a shytshow.
