Hi everyone , been looking into how to increase handling when towing trailer(s). I got a 6 x 10 flat bed. looking to get a 18ft equipment trailer in next year or so then get 14ft dump trailer.. The plan is to do side jobs with tractor . Found that (Air Lift ) make an air bag that goes inside rear coils springs to aid the springs. Has anyone done this and how is it working out for you??

I have them for when I have my camper shell on when we go on a week vacation travel. I only have about 1000 lbs. total payload on it when we load up but they keep it from having any squat. Can't stand the weak look a truck has when squatting.

I went with the AirLift 5000 bags that are outside of the springs and are pretty stout. Only reason is because my neighbor (we live on a dirt/gravel road) has the 1000's (inside the spring) and he has had a rock wedge inside and wear a hole in them twice in the last two years. I think bags of any kind are absolutely an improvement for towing though so whatever you choose, you'll like them at least while they hold air...

I had Airlift on my last truck with the manual filling option. Installed Timber Grove on my current 2500 with the on board air and have never been happier. The Timber Grove bags seem to be way better quality when side by side of the Airlift. Just my two sense. Agree with above though, any bag is an improvement for towing.

Do you have any pictures of the air unit installed? I am looking at the wireless manual compressor setup. It says to install in the cargo box in the cab.

I don't have any at the moment. The picture on Timber's website is pretty accurate though. It drops right into the in floor storage behind the driver's seat. Drill one small hole for the airline and power wire and you are set. If you want any additional pictures let me know and I'll work on taking a few.

I traded in my 18 2500 last week and got a 22 Rebel. I also sold my 30' Gator Made gooseneck and have begun looking for a new 18' trailer. Pretty sure I will need to upgrade to some sort of rear spring assist for my truck also. Thanks for the input on the airlift 1000. That is what I had considered, but with a 1200' gravel driveway I may look into other options
