I have a 2010 Dodge Ram sport 5.7 hemi.
For months I’ve had an issue with the ignition not turning over every time I put the key in (not sure if related to current problem).
For the past couple of days I’ve had the service 4x4 light come on and off intermittently - I plugged my code reader in and it threw a c1000 code. The truck has also lost power for a brief moment and a red lightning bolt flashed up on my dash.
Today the check engine light came on and when I plugged it in I got the following codes -
C1000 break pedal switch 1 circuit performance,
P2299 Brake Pedal Pos Accelerator Pedal Pos Incompatible,
B1660 Front Fog Lamp Control Circuit High,
U0401 invalid data received from ECM/PCM,
P0572 brake switch 1 low

Do any of you wise people have any clue what the issue might be? I’m tearing my hair out here, couldn’t get an appointment and a mechanic until next week and would like to go in with some kind of idea of what to expect.

Many thanks and God bless!

I know bad grounds can cause all kinds of crazy issues.

You beat me to it.

Sounds like you need a new ignition switch they fail at least once in a 4th gens lifetime will cause a lot of the symptoms you describe. Start it up and wiggle the key see if anything happens.

Thank you so much! Cleaning the ground connector seems to have rectified the check engine light issues.

The service 4WD light is still on as well as the ESP/BAS - could this be a bad sensor unrelated to my engine light? Doesn’t one sensor monitor both of those alerts?
