When you are backing into your camp spot, remove your sway control and unplug your plug to the trailer so your trailer brakes aren't fighting you. Especially in loose gravel.
Honestly, I've never had to do that. I haven't had any issues with either interfering with me backing up. Of course that could be because of the style of the wd hitch.

I've never had a WD hitch to fight me either while backing up. Have used a cheapie on 1st TT, Equalizer 10K and more recently the Blue Ox with Sway Pro. Some are quite noisy though, not good when you arrive 10pm!

I have never thought about unhooking anything when backing into a space or anywhere. Never had a problem.

If you’re towing a 5W follow the recommendations for unhooking. Let the last movement be reverse to take the tension off the pin and engage the emergency brake. Pull the release lever then raise the 5W enough to get a small gap between the box and hitch. Off you go.

I do un-plug. My trailer brakes will lock up if I am backing onto blocks for leveling thereby skidding the blocks.

Tug test a 5th wheel before raising the landing gear completely.

Check your tires often. If they have "China" anywhere on them, buy new tires.

Keep a reflective vest, road flares or reflective triangles in your truck.

Buy a cheap Infared Thermometer from Amazon. Check your wheel hubs when you stop for fuel/etc. A "hotter" hub could mean a bearing going out.

Carry at least one set of bearings, seals and grease.

Look for grease on the inside of your camper wheels. A sign the seal is bad from bearings getting hot.

Repack your bearings every 10K miles.

Know your weights. Truck limits, tongue, pin, axel. Black Cat Scales are great for campers!

LevelMatePro+ is a must have in my book if you do any boondocking. This little device has a phone app that shows you exactly end to end and side to side how close to level you are. Parking in the most level spot to start with makes setup so much easier and leveling from there is also.

Try to avoid pulling your trailer (more so on longer bumper pulls) with a full water tank especially in the summer or when roads are warmer. The water tank on most TT's is directly over the front axle and is too much weight for the axle and can result in a blow out.

^^^^ many great ideas above.
I carry two spare tires, ever try to find another, when you are 500 miles from a sizable town, on a Sunday?
Also carry a spare vent cover, lost one in rainy Oregon, had to MacGyver a wood and tarp cover in the rain, with a borrowed ladder. Now carry a collapsible ladder as well.
Teflon spray, for door latches, trailer screw jacks.
Square drive screw bits, Gorilla tape, liquid nails, tube of polyurethane caulk.
2x4 short pieces, for more leveling.
Big bottle jack. Coffee can of screws, bolts nuts, washers, old RV hardware
I'm sure there's more!

I put goodyear endurance tires on my travel trailer and a cre3000 equalizer. It feels like a completely new trailer now, even new it never towed as nice as it does now.

I usually had the backup issue in loose gravel. I was trying to back up onto leveling blocks and it just kept pushing them back. Unplug,,, problem solved.

That is ludicrous. What does the temp have to do with anything? Does it make the water heavier?
If you have a blow-out because of too much weight you were already overloaded to begin with. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the temperature of the road surface.

You and I will have to agree to disagree. Higher roadway temps combined with heavy weight on the tire increases friction on the tire.

We'll just agree that you are wrong. Do tire manufacturers instruct people that their trailer tires should not be used at summer temps? No they don't.
Don't overload the tires and there will be no problems summer or winter.
