Ram 2022 Radio Issues

I’m having a huge issue with the sound system in my Dodge Ram 2022 Bighorn Crew Cab. It has the Alpine sound system.

Since the day I drove it off the lot when I connect with my iPhone there are songs that make popping and crackling noises. The dealer heard what I heard and they decided to replace the amplifier. That did not work. They looked for software updates, that did not work. I upgraded my iPhone, that did not work.

And just to see if it is a manufacturing issue, the service manager had me connect my phone to another 2022 ram pick up and the same issue popped up with the same song and the same EQ settings. And no, it’s not the song sound quality because it happens on tons of songs. I picked a particular song so the testing would be consistent.

Hi then hopped in 2022 Laramine with the Harman Cardon system. NO ISSUES!

There is nothing anybody can do to help me. I am so frustrated.

I called Chrysler and they have no answers. They were dismissive and said the system was operating as intended? I told the person I was talking with that if they were sitting in my vehicle they would lose their mind because it sounds horrible.

I don’t understand how this communication issue can’t be resolved with a software update but until more people complain, apparently, they will not investigate the issue. So a software update may never come.

I am so disappointed in Dodge. I’m actually considering selling my truck because I hate driving it with this sound issue.

For a test, and possibly an answer, try downloading a 2-3 new songs and change the sound quality for your downloads. Of course, pick the best quality, and see if that fixes your issue. Also, if there are no issues with other devices, formats, etc... It's definitely not the system in the truck.

Uconnect 5 is an android based system. Borrow a Samsung and try it. If it works Great And you know it is a compatibility issue that will be fixed hopefully in a software release. If it is still there, it is probably in the module behind the screen. Lots of issues with iphones and Uconnect 5. Have a customer who bought a Longhorn 2500 diesel and got so mad with his iphone, he sold it back to the dealership.

I'm having the same issue with my Alpine system in my 2022. It seems to crackle and pop on a lot of songs. It sounds nothing like the Alpine did in my 2018.
