I've seen a few of these posts on here and elsewhere, so i thought I would also add my story of ordering a Ram. I currently have a 2020 Ram 3500, Tradesman dually. I bought it new and its been an amazing truck. I since then have upgraded by toy hauler and this truck can pull it, but when i have my toys and water on board, I need more power for the hills. So, I have been looking all over the country, and I'm sure just like those who are seriously finding out as well, there just aren't any trucks available in the HD line. The only way to go, was either wait and eternity and get into battling other customers or just order it. I took the more sane route and ordered. I placed an order for a 2022, Laramie, HO engine, Aisin transmission and 4.10. Added a bunch more options as well. I placed this order on February 3. The truck is currently in D status. Looking forward to it moving to D1, so I then know all parts are available. Ill add to this post to serve as a timeline for other who might be interested. Below is what I ordered. Ill also post the window sticker as soon as its available.

Not a peep until this email, which basically means nothing. Still the same status as my initial post. Chatted with Ram, they said waiting is now 8 - 12 weeks. The email from them is below.

I read a story, don't know where, that said the demand for the HD trucks is far greater than their ability to build them, specifically the power wagon, but it probably applies across the HD lines.

We have 2 assembly plants in the USA building 1500s

There is only 1 assembly plant in Mexico building HD Rams

At the Saltillo Mexico HD Ram plant, they supply all the HD Rams for Canada & USA & the rest of the world
But they also build all the Ram 1500 Standard 2 door cabs
They build all the Mexico 1500s on 2500 frames, unless that was changed in past couple of years

I’m in the same boat.. ordered a 6.7 2500 on February 16, i was told today by Ram Care today that it’s in the ‘scheduling phase of manufacturing’ -what ever that means. Seemed like a generic answer.

I was hoping that a build date had been assigned.. they also informed me that the dealer would be the best source of information and they couldn’t really give out any useful information.. my current truck sold last week so time has slowed down to a crawl waiting for this thing.. lol
I’ve seen people get trucks anywhere from 6 weeks to 13 months lol.. quite a gap lol

FYI if this helps? I ordered my 3500 Big Horn on 1/12/22 and yesterday 3/16/22 the dealer sent me a message saying my truck started production on 3/16/22. he said it usually takes 3 to 4 weeks for production, then there is shipping? we hear trucks sitting in rail yards for couple weeks before their shipped, then whatever the dealer has to do to it? my guess is about 6 to 8 weeks more before i see it.

The wait time seems to be coming down, from looking at the spreadsheet posted in a different Ram forum. I am just pulling the trigger on ordering one also, documents are in my inbox to sign. So I've been looking at this hard for a couple of weeks. $93K MSRP truck for $83K seems like a "deal" these days.

I'd love to sell my truck now as you did. But in Arkansas, if you sell it more than 60 days before you buy the new one, there are tax penalties. You'd have to pay sales tax on the entire price of the new one, instead of just the difference. At my current trucks present value, that would cost me $4200! The gamble is how much the value may drop before the new truck shows up, of course.

Anyway, hope they get yours built soon and that it's a great truck for you.

Do you remember the thread that had the spreadsheet you mentioned? I've gotta be getting close. The dealer i got my truck from has another 3500 coming in, and the VIN is 2 numbers off from mine.

Excellent!
I have a '20 3500 dually Laramie HO Aisin 4:10. Pulled my 42' Cardinal 5'er.

Just remember this is a Ram 3500...Not a '77 Buick Electra 225. It's a truck and expect some firmness in the ride and when it shifts. lol

You will love the HO, Aisin, 4:10.

Via Ram Chat, they said I was in D1. My dealer verified and I have a ship date assigned. It’ll ship literally 5 months from the order date.

4/11/2022 Contacted Ram via the chat option online. They said now in D1. Confirmed with the dealer that the truck is D1. This is almost 4 months to the day.

In my case, I ordered a Ram 3500, night edition dually. The order was placed by the dealer on December 14, 2021. It was intended to go to their lot, but i put a deposit on it in February. It has a ship date, that the dealer gave me of May 14, but they cant even produce a build sheet or window sticker. I see so many others that are recent orders that have both of those items.

Can the dealer provide an updated POC (priced order confirmation, like the one you should have received around the time of your order)? If you can get that, it should have the updated D1 status showing with an estimated build date, if I remember correctly this would be in the upper right hand corner.

I see the date, I just think it’s odd that no one can seem to procedure an equipment listing or window sticker.

These aren't available until the build actually begins. Once the truck is going down the line/is built the build sheet will be available later that day or the next, and once the truck leaves vendor install (for anything like bedliner/running boards etc..) and has an estimated ship date, the window sticker will become available in the same timeframe that the build sheet became available.

So not strange at all, this is how it is for every ram built and how it was when mine was built last May as well. In the meantime the POC is meant to be your information, and if you have the tentative build date you can keep an eye out for your build sheet and window sticker yourself using links provided on this forum.

I'm not saying this is the best system or even adequate for customers to track their vehicles, but nothing strange is going on in terms of the build sheet/window sticker not being available yet.
