I come to realize (most of us does) that once you add a part to your truck, it never really ends. I mean it doesn’t matter if it a costly Preformance part, or a simple inexpensive add on. I think after my upper control arms and front shocks arrive, that’ll be it for me as I have more money into my truck then I’ll ever get out of it (not that I want to sell). I have off road bumpers to go on and my new trans to go in (this coming week). I know of other parts I want to swap, however don’t need to! Fair to say I think I’m going to call it done after all the rest of my bought parts are installed. I’m going to throw my truck up for truck of the month once everything is done and a build thread of every single thing done to the truck. I really have to go over as I have a lot done, major and minor. Has anyone else got to the point where you sit back and left your truck after modding successfully? Maybe moved on to another?

Unless you have a hot rod or old truck never think about getting your money back out of a truck or car. Yes I believe in making your truck yours but you never will get money back out of it. I myself when looking for a truck prefer one that is bone stock as you never know how bad someone messed up installing aftermarket parts. Same with turned diesels I see those as people driving the **** out of them. Once you get your truck done definitely post some pictures.

I reached a point will all three of my last Ram trucks where I decided I was done.

How did I know? Well, it ran and looked just how I wanted it to.
AND your wallet was much lighter.

Nothing is ever done. Today you like it, tomorrow you want to change it up a bit. Never stop messing with it and making it your own. It's your truck, you do whatever you want to it and enjoy it!

For now I love my truck but my goal was a reliable daily driver. I have the tonneau cover, nice stereo and nav, leveled with big tires... Perfect for what I need.

If money was no object I'd have a nice daily like I do now and then a slammed hotrod rcsb.

All i have done to my Ram is a light bar in the front bumper, works well in heavy fog.
CB Radio, Tonneau cover, Bedslide & my Sign rack
Well the color change when it was brand new, did cost a good chunk of money

It is mainly a work truck, but it is also my only 4 tire vehicle

In short….. No, you are never done. It never ends. Nor do I want it too.

If someone ads a ‘mod’, to their Ram, or whatever vehicle they have, and Is doing so thinking they will get all the money out of it……. Then there are two issues going wrong:

1. They’re doing so for the wrong reason. There are way better investments to do so.

2. It is ‘extremely rare’ to recoup your expenses. Unless it’s a rare, sought after, limited edition, Concours quality model…… and even at that, there has to be a market for it and a buyer. If your talking Ferrari GT…. then we can go down that road, but we’re not

Do the mods because ‘you’ want to. Be it performance, looks, or simply the enjoyment of doing so…. Then go for it. Make it yours.

Does Modding end…… No, Never. It’s in our blood. If it wasn’t, we certainly wouldn’t be here on this site. We’d more likely be sucking on a latte while our EV is charging at Costco.

Even when you think your done, doing all the improvements you can imagine, even after you’ve drained your budget for it and then some, there is always the pursuit of making it even better. Just think of what a wash and wax is for. It’s to protect, and make better it’s appearance. ‘I think I can make that chrome shine just a bit more, hmmm… is that black starting to fade? You get the point.

Personally I do it because I get enjoyment out of the process of doing so, and the end result, besides… I have fun doing so. Hope you do as well :waytogo:

Nothing is over!! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!

Anyway. I have my truck about the way I want it. Almost. I need bigger tires. 35's or 37's. Not sure yet. I also can't decide if I want a back rack of some type or a cap. Gotta get the bed lined too.

I have a feeling I won't ever be done.

Another great line from that movie, and one I use often: "One stupid, senseless act deserves another!"

Mine came very much modded but it was a special order from the factory so the mods were done by them and came with a warranty! Am I done modding it? Hell no!! I have ideas to add things to the truck to make it more user friendly. I daily drive it so it needs to be up to the task for it.
