This is an opinion only. What Oil filter are you using in your Ram 1500? I have always stayed away from FRAM. Just wondering what most use? There are 10s of choices. just want to see what most use.

In all honesty, they are all made by about 3 different manufacturers. The FRAM filters are built by Federal Mogul and have the same specs as many others such as MOPAR etc. I have always ran FRAM with no issues. Currently have a MOPAR on it as I have my oil changes done at my dealership. If you are running synthetic or do your oil change intervals at more than 4k miles, use the Ultra or higher, Mobile 1, Royal Purple etc. Standard filters go into bypass between 3-4k miles whereas the others can filter up to 20k before bypass. You can't go wrong if you stick with OEM or a good brand name.

K&N for me. I like the 1" nut for easy removal. the 6.4 filter location is a pain.

Baldwin B2 in my 5.9 with Valvoline high mileage semi synthetic. 218k on original engine. Before that was using WIX which works great as well. I buy them by the dozen and change every 6 months or 3k miles.

Teaser from oil filter thread, this is a patch from the filter that came in first place versus the filter that came in last place. The second patch denotes the contamination that made it through the filter. Top picture is royal purple media nearly perfect filtration, the second filter was ac delco paper. Then later in the oil filter thread you have some professionally tested oil filters for efficiency, and it is a huge difference from the top filters to the bottom "wix xp" filters. When it comes to oil filters feelings should not have a part of the conversation, just look at the facts. There is no reason to buy less efficient filters, your hemi deserves better. This just scratches the surface, that thread is loaded with info. Wix XP is simply one of the worst filters made, the tests prove this. The worst filter in both tests is ac delco, well wix xp is just as bad, look at how much contamination gets through that thing...

The show “Engine Masters” did a whole show on oil filters, pretty interesting. The best filter is almost always “a new one”, but most brands have a good, better, best model of filter with different characteristics. So hard to say this brand is better than that without looking at a specific model.

Good reason not to use anything but fleetgaurd made by cummins. Especially since I have cummins in all my rigs. Including my ship.
Everything else is junk.

WIX - good enough for NASCAR good enough for me
That depends on the car and owner. But even then you can not buy the filters they use since very few of them are made.

Wix, Fram, Napa. And a host of others are used on Nascar engines. But each engine is different. You can even buy a block but it will be without a fuel, oil, system. Cam the same way. Each team hides the oil system from other teams. But I can tell you the oil is mostly pumped to the right side. Fuel is a very long flex shaft in a tube and the fuel pump is at the tank on the passenger side bottom corner.
