This is how I got my car with the ignition looking like this which makes me believe something else was there.. & also saw these to connectors have no clue what they are.. lmk if my theory on the ignition seems crazy @madpuma13
the ignition is just a swap out piece. If you have tip start (from the pictures you do) the push to start ignition plugs into the same plug that goes into your current ignition. From the pictures your missing the silver surround around the ignition. just a cosmetic thing.

The harness that you need for the N GO part of push button is to connect all the antennas that are needed for the push to start key.

I am not sure what those plugs are for. Definitely not the same plug thats needed for the antennas though.

gotcha i know it's been a few years since this thread was created is there a harness already pre made lol i know the parts for most of everything has any of it been updated i havent gone through the whole thread and i'm pretty sure i'm just part of the broken record side of things (WHICH I TRULY APOLOGIZE TO EVERYONE) but i wanna get to a point of doing this for my truck and actually distributing kits to ppl for half the price some of these websites are charging.. i have the time and somewhat money lol (i look at Ram as something affordable and enjoyable i would like to help the trend.. its my first truck and plan on sticking with Mopar for life! & not to mention my dad has a brand new Ford and it broke down at 17k miles hahaha picking up his Ford in My Truck was such a good day also made me realize i'll never do ford :rotflmao::rotflmao:

I would check car-part.com for a push start button. There seems to be a number of them available there. I know a used RF hub will not work but a used start button should work.

Sorry I’m a little confused. I have a 16 with keyless and remote start, no air. Do I need a new RF hub? Or will the hub for keyless work for keyless n go?

If you don’t have push start from the factory then you need a new hub.

Thank you. And from what I’m reading, the 21’ is the year to go as it accepts everything?
They are pretty much all backwards and forwards compatible. Only difference is the older ones require an external antenna where as the newer years have one built in. So if you have a newer 4th gen I wouldn’t recommend and older hub. I’m also not sure if the ‘21s are compatible with air ride or not but looks like that doesn’t matter for you.

A used rf won’t work? I’m glad I saw this post. I almost bought one on eBay…. Just curious, why won’t a used one work?

When they are programmed the trucks VIN is written to it and cannot be removed. In order to work properly, the hub needs the vin of the truck it is in.

O ok. Thanks for all your help! Got a few more questions then I think I’m good haha. You said 21’ has internal antenna, does this mean I don’t need one of the antennas on the parts list? Also, does someone on here make a harness? Don’t really want to pay for 1000 pieces when I need 5 of them haha.

The external antenna on the older hubs is for keyless entry and remote start. Passive entry/push button require different antennas.

Hi all, this thread has been a heap of good information. I have a 2018 2500 Laramie and have installed the pushbutton start and proximity handles. I bought the kit from Autotech Electronics, mainly because I wanted to make sure I got all the correct parts at once. Everything works. Functionally, the system behaves but I have a couple of annoyances I'd like to get cleaned up. The RF hub comes programmed from autotech and I did not use the RF reset procedure to get it to work. It was plug and play... mostly except below.

1. The "P" Park indicator flashes as soon as I installed the new RF hub. Again, everything works, just the P flashes. (Autotech claims their kits do this and are aware)
2. I can't get the radio menu item to select or deselect the passive entry in the 8.4 menu. I enabled the CSM function in Alpha but the passive entry option does not display in the radio.
3. I can lock my key fobs in the truck without it unlocking. I don't get the double horn sound and the doors don't auto unlock.

The BCM settings are all "yes" per the instructions in the thread in Alpha. Push button start shows on the DIC as it did not before I programmed the BCM in Alpha. Any ideas on how to fix the above? I also do have a PIN from Autotech, but am worried that if I do a RF hub reset, it'll mess up everything that currently works. Although I think that's what is needed to get the BCM, ECU settings changed from adding the new RF hub. I'm at a loss.

Resetting the rf hub shouldn’t effect any of the settings that you changed in the BCM. They are two different modules.

I did not use a kit, gathered my parts and installed as the original write up directed. I had to change the RF hub on my 2018 BigHorn and even though it was a new OEM unit I had to reset the new hub three times before everything settled down and worked correctly. As DoughRat19 stated resetting the RF hub shouldn’t change anything in the BCM as they are separate modules BUT nothing is guaranteed! Those things can be a little sketchy. Whatever you do don’t change things in rapid secession. It can sometimes take several hours for changes to take effect. Reset the hub, turn the truck on and see what’s working and what isn’t then wait a few hours before you make more changes. I lost my TPMS on initial install and even after doing the rolling calibration it was still *****. Two hours later it was back up and working. I programmed three Fobs and two registered immediately, third one recorded as failed. The next day I went to attempt the program again and the failed Fob worked completely without trying the programming again. Write down all of your settings before you reset the hub so you have a baseline to go by.

Thanks for the reply. The option on the doors and windows setting in the radio magically appeared tonight. But now my two keys are no longer detected. RF hub status has everything connected and no faults. Only way to start the truck is remotely or touching the tip to the start button. Buttons on the remote are functional, door handles are not. Odd. I’ll try disconnecting the battery tomorrow. Disconnecting the battery did nothing. At a loss.

Can you list what settings you updated in the BCM?

I'm making my 2014 RAM 1500 think it has a manual trans as I have a stand alone controller for the 8 speed auto. I need to replace the RF Hub for one that has the pin for the clutch input. My truck has the passive entry and remote start so I need a hub that has all three connectors. I did some research online and ordered 68245479AE but it does not have the passive enty or remote antenna connector. I think I'm looking for one from a 2500 with manual trans and passive entry. Anyone got a part # ? PLEASE :)
