Bought Jan 11, 2022. Tradesman Diesel Ram 3500 with a few upgrades, one being the 12"screen, I actually liked it a lot, until it stopped working.

I can't find how it happens, but it simply doesn't turn on when I turn the truck on, I mean the screen, not the functions, everything is there, I just can't see it. The dealer said it was known issue and an update was coming soon, recommended not using Apple CarPlay over bluetooth and wait, well, first it was a pain to disconnect the bluetooth CarPlay, it simply refused to let go. After a reset of the car u-connect system it let go, but the problem didn't stop, every once in a while it simply doesn't turn on, so I have no control of AC, Audio, navigation, CarPlay or anything, but they are all working. I am already on my 4th visit to the dealer.

Added to the above, the US connection (all 4, 2 USB-A and 2 USB-C) have some kind of bad connection, they keep disconnecting/reconnecting continuously and it's really driving me crazy!

And the ice of the cake is that on my trip to Florida, the cruise control started to act up, working whenever it wanted to, but mostly not working, messages that it was off, needed service and etc.

Anyone with such new truck had any similar problems that can relate or give me suggestion?

I am really frustrated and having paid so much money for it, I'd expect a much better assistance from the dealer!

It really is a shame soo many have issues with the 12in screen. Try looking in the settings and see if there is any update that you might not have. I am one of the fortunate one and have little to no issues a few Android auto issues but that's it and nothing worth complaining about. The dealer warned me before I bought mine I might have issues but I had no idea what people were going through.

I am glad you are not having issues, I have had since the second week after buying out truck, it is frustrating and a fact, if you turn it off, get out, lock, go somewhere, for a few minutes and come back it will most likely work fine. In my opinion this is ridiculous for a company like Dodge to have customers going through this and simply not having a solution for so long. I have had 10 Toyotas in the last 11 years, and never experienced something like this, all my Toyotas were in the $30k - $40k range, so I am really surprised this is happening on such reputable truck that costed me $76k.

Having issues happens, but the lack of solution or even care to the customer it's what's really upsetting.

I am about to travel again to Florida and I can deal with the screen not working, but if I have to go without the cruise control it will really be a problem.

Sorry for the rant...

Sorry for the rant...

Rant on I would be pissed to. Next time try to force reset it. Power and tune button until it resets sometimes it take a few times. Also Open and shut the drivers door will trigger the software as well. Another thing I heard was do not let it connect wireless to autoplay connect it to the USB port. Hope this helps

Thanks a lot for the suggestions, I'll try in the morning and report. I don't have any of our phones connecting wireless, and that's how I found out the USB is also not working well...

I receive my 2022 2500 Limited Longhorn just before Christmas. Almost immediately I was having uConnect radio issues. The 12” system was just goofy. It would kind of work, then lock up. One time half of the screen would display and the other half was black. The NAV system would lock up or just go away (black screen) when I was driving. I tried the soft re-boot many times and that would get things working for awhile (a few hours or until I turned off and restarted the truck). I complained to my dealer back in January (this is an $85k truck with glaring quality issues), and he said they were working on a software update to be delivered in March. I had to wait for the update. So while I “waited”, I decided to to a factory reset of the “Radio” system. By doing that I lost all of my configuration, radio settings, screen layouts, iPhone pairings I had configured, everything. But, after doing the factory reset, the system seem to be more stable. My NAV worked And I did t get any black screens. I did not configure much of anything like radio stations and so on because I didn’t want to stress what I view is a very fragile and buggy system.

Then I got the March(?) software update (while it was parked in my driveway). Since this update, I have not had any issues. I have configured the radio stations, display layout and so forth. So, given my experience, I would suggest you do a full factory reset of your uConnect radio system, and get the latest software version. That won’t help with bad wire harness connections, but may clear up some of the problems. I read somewhere that some folks having camera issues are finding the wiring harness connectors are not fully plugged in. Also, some of the harnesses are split and those connections are buried behind the head liner or door panel. You may have one of these situations.

As a side note, I am very disappointed in the quality issues Ram has. My new truck also had a third-brake-light water leak creating a skanky mildew smell in the cabin (leak recently fixed but we’ll see during the next rain storm), DEF pump failure (part on order), missing bumper-bolt on one of my RamBox covers such that the cover/door is racked (part on order for two months). This is my first truck, first Ram, and first diesel... big money. So far I am wondering if I made a bad choice in buying a Ram truck. The ONLY thing that keeps me settled down is that my dealer is really trying to get this stuff fixed. They have been very good so far.

I am glad this worked for you. But, how do you do the factory reset? Can I do or it needs to be at the dealer? I bought the truck for work, it's also my first truck, I actually liked having after I started driving it so much, but these are a very big disappointment, especially after the big $$ we put in... So far, mechanically it's been great, the electronics are where the problems are, display, cruise control, USB...

Please let me know how you did it.

UPDATE

Chrysler of Culpeper, VA, apparently fixed my cruise control (tested several times today) and said they got the OK from FCA to order and replace the unit and the USB hub. Let's see how long it takes.

Some of you with communications issues between you Ram radio & your Apple device

You should know that the RAMs radio run on an ANDROID system

I believe that i read in one of the Rams pamphlets on the radio, back when the radio software was LINUX it suggests that any issues with other programming ( Apple & Android ), that you should check with your Phone software.

Now the Ram radios are running Android & the problems are with the APPLE software.
APPLE is King & they won't write any backwards Patches into the cell phone software to make the newer phones work with the Rams ancient software

Until APPLES customers demand that a backwards compatible patch is written by APPLE, the issues will continue

Check on some Apple Forums & you will find many customers complaining

I just took delivery of my 2022 3500 RAM last week and my 12" screen has went out on me three times. One time while I was driving. You mentioned a factory reset. Is that something I can do and if so how do I do that. Your help will be very much appreciated.

My 2019 Ram Limited has the same issue where my 12" screen goes black when I backup and then put into drive (seems to happen when the backup cameras get engaged). When this happens (and it doesn't always), my Nav system does not work, it says I am still parked where my truck was last. Dealer says there is an update coming but I have been waiting for almost 2 years. Very frustrated with Dodge. I too am interested in how to do the factory reset. I'll try anything but I'm pretty sure it's the update that will be the permanent fix. Suggestions anyone?
