Good news, I suppose, is I do experience the same thing in my 4Runner as well. Took that vehicle out to dinner tonight. So it looks like my Raptor/Tremor order is back off the table, lol.

Hopefully the glasses are the ticket.

Now I'm stuck wondering if this just started, or if I just suddenly became aware of it and now can't unsee it.
I figured you would ... like I mentioned in an earlier post, for me on the Ram it's worse than in my wife's Lexus ... just get the glasses and wear them at night , I do and took me a while to get used to them but honestly I feel safer wearing them ....

It's definitely a "once you see it, you can't unsee it" type thing.

Wait until you try your glasses, after you get it dialed in (as it may take a few prescriptions). It is like seeing Standard Definition TV then seeing High Definition, it is hard to go back knowing what you are missing.

Don't give up on the first lenses you get, it may give you eye/head pain, just work with them to get it dialed in. My first pair, they jumped me from nothing to fully correcting and I couldn't see my way down stairs and had a massive headache. They progressively worked me to my actual prescription over several years.

Your mind has been working to correct your bad eyesight your entire life, you actually will be fighting your brain for a bit. After you get used to it, you will get less fatigue, as your mind has to do less "work". The worse your correction the more your mind works (also, the less correction the less your mind has to correct).

Good to know!

They are currently being inspected. Should arrive sometime next week.

Follow up to your post, @JPT, as they surprisingly showed up today. I completely get what you were saying now. I felt like I was drunk walking out of the place. My vision is surprisingly better with them on, but it is definitely weird. Especially when moving. Driving didn't seem to be nearly as impacted as when I was walking through the grocery store.

I definitely feel that "brain fight" activity you mentioned. That's a rather succinct way to put it.

Nice! Imagine cutting 5" high grass lol ... when I mow my lawn I cut it at 5" high and if I have my prescription glasses I feel like im in stupid mode lol

Wait til you start driving at night with them ...

Some advise, only where them when you need to, if you don't need them around the house don't wear them, also if you have another pare of say sunglasses, switch to those when you go say into a grocery store ...

Curious as to why?

Just bash your head into a wall kinda like fixing the old tube tv :rotflmao:

Oh I have done that plenty of times unwillingly but never willingly lol ..

My eyes are starting to get bad. Used to have 15/20 eye vision now down to 20/20. Neon lights mess with my eyes severely most nights I can't read gas station boards till I get close. Too many years working out side working with reflective material. No how much you rub your eye they still don't clear up lol

If you are describing what you are seeing correctly, you 100% have an astigmatism. An astigmatism causes lights to appear distorted. This isn't 100% accurate, but is an example of what it looks like for me without my glasses on at night vs with my glasses on:

That is precisely what astigmatism looks like. Mine was really bad. Lights all had those long trails. Got LASIK surgery about 20 years ago and POW....perfect vision! No more astigmatism.

I always hated "new glasses day". Always felt off balance for a couple of days. I highly recommend getting an evaluation for LASIK. That was the best money I have ever spent. It's not expensive and it's outpatient surgery. It's practically an assembly line procedure. I went from 20/400 (basically legally blind..the big E at the top of the eye chart was about all I could see) with a severe astigmatism... to 20/15 immediately. I mean perfect vision. That was about 20 years ago. I'm having some difficulty seeing things up close now...but that's normal for a 52 year old. Still crystal clear at distance.

Seriously, forget glasses....go to a LASIK doctor and get an eval. It will change your life.

I've watched Final Destination way too many times to even try LASIK, or acupuncture, or go to nascar,,,,,,we won't even discuss following a dam logging truck.

Agreed. Lasik was great for me. Roughly 15 years ago. So great being able to wake up and see the alarm clock 2 feet from my face without glasses

What do people think about window tints? Just matching the front 2 windows to the rears or getting a ceramic coating on all the windows too? And what percentage do you recommend
huge thread for responses - but here you go from my perspective.

Semi-metallic is a no-go. It distorts the radio transmitters of the fob And I‘ve moved away to Ceramic. Ceramic is the most durable and does not have transmitter disturbance. I always do a match to the rear windows and tint the front windscreen with a near 0 darken, but love the reflective values.

Wore glasses since high school as I have Hyperopia (farsighted) vision. In my late 40's got Lasik done by an amazing doctor who did a custom cornea job which eliminated all distortions from headlights and such. Lasted 12 years in my right eye until I developed a cataract in it, had to have a cornea transplant which negated all benefits of the Lasik. Left eye still works pretty good but glasses are needed for driving since the two eyes couldn't work together, oh well I am 66 now so now worry. The moral of all of this? I have to wear polarized glasses for driving and computing. Polarized glasses don't play well with a quality tint, you'll have rainbow distortions. There's no way I'd tint the windshield knowing that as much as I'd like to.

I’m outside in the bright sun a lot, and swear by Polarized sunglasses.

Yes, initially you will get what was described as a rainbow effect, looking through another coating with a polarized coating, but that is very short lived and after 5 minutes you don’t even notice. Your eyes and brain train to overlook it, and it becomes a non-issue.

My office has heavily polarized coatings, and when wearing the glasses, as mentioned are visually not a factor.

The benefits of reduced glare far outweighed. :waytogo:

My windshield is tinted with nice quality tint. I wear polarized sunglasses all the time my eyes have gotten very sensitive over the years. I wear oakley prizm polarized sunglasses and I have no issues looking out. High end tint is more directional vs low end and you can tell the difference. We have a lot of over cast days here in western Oregon and it doesn't seem bright. the partial sun bursting through bothers me more and overall not bright outside. The added help of glare from the sun having it tinted and polarized sunglasses is spectacular. Night driving is even better.
