I run GTX CSP Minis and have been happy with them because most of the cheaper LEDs from Amazon would require you to modify the stock housing because the dust shield on the back would not screw back in due to the large heat sink on those cheaper LED bulbs. My recommendation is if the GTX bulbs are too expensive try to find something on Amazon without a fan unit on the back of the headlight bulbs, and instead find one with a more compact design. Other than that, the light output is pretty good for still using the stock headlight assemblies but if you want something different I've had my eye on the Morimoto XB / Alpharex Nova units. Little pricey though, definitely not under the $100 suggestion.
Thank you!!

You also might run into some issues with your truck throwing a "bulb out" message in the instrument cluster if you swap over to LED's too. Since LED bulbs have a lower draw on them compared to a halogen bulb, it makes the vehicle believe that one is inoperative and throws a message in the "Notifications" screen in the gauge cluster. Some brand of bulbs have a built in resistor to make it CANBUS compatible, or you can go the route that many of us did, (myself included,) and reprogram the truck using ALFAOBD to allow the usage of LED bulbs without resistors so that you won't get any annoying messages about a bulb being out. I would highly recommend reprograming the truck versus messing with resistors because they overcomplicate the installation of the bulb, whether it be having to mount the resistor on bare metal to act as a location for heat dissipation or if it is built into the bulb it would be a larger sized part compared to one without. There are plenty of threads over the usage of ALFAOBD and instructions on how to reprogram the vehicle to allow LED's and change other features as well. Good luck and let us know if you have any more questions!

A tankful of premium gas and Wades blindSpot mirrors. :)
Hello, where did you get your lights for your grill? I have only found one company that makes the RAM light up and they are currently out of stock & can only get it in white. Which I don't mind but would prefer pink

$20 led replacement bulbs from Amazon. So freaking bright. I love them. The vanity mirrors are so hard to do though

For anyone out there who is vertically challenged or has any kind of lift done on their trucks, these things are incredibly handy. If you can pick one up on sale (like I did here in Ontario Canada for $44) they are worth their weight in gold. Foldable and can be stored in the bed, taken out when needed. One of the best additions for under $100 you can get for
Your truck IMO.

I would get one as well if they weren’t $1,000,000 for a fold out step. A little overpriced for what it is imo

My wife said that at first too, but after I installed them she said they are at the right height and make them very functional vs regular truck steps.

My wife would never be climbing into the back for anything lol … so I can never justify $400 for a step on MY truck lol …

ive skimmed over 261 pages of this thread so for.
question for those that replaced the puddle and license plate lamps with led’s. did that give you any lamp out codes?
Pretty sure it’s just the interior like map ans done that will want to do it or maybe I have it backwards that it’s the outside leds that cause problems.

Not just for the wife though. 5th gens have a very small bumper lip, so when the tailgate is down you kick the tail light panel if the tailgate is down. Its actually really irritating and really makes me miss my chevy bumper with the foot slot built in. Once I find a winch bumper I like I'll replace the rear for that option.

Still like the ford tailgate step the best.

Yeah its a pretty nice design wish someone would make a aftermarket kit for all tailgates. I use my truck for work and climb in my bed a lot. Having a step stool doesn't really work as I probably drive off without it or run it over lmao.
