I decided to do something with my back window because it was boring so I put a flag on it. I got the one from Xplore Offroad. I installed it today. It wasn't that hard for one person but I messed up a spot in the center. Popped a bubble and tried to rub it out but my nail caught it and I creased it. That made me mad. There was a ton of bubbles in it and I spent a few hours trying to get them out. I know the smaller ones will fade over time so I'll give it a couple of weeks to see how I like it. If I don't I'll buy another one and have a pro do it, probably the guy who did my Mopar decal.

I ordered another one. I just don't like the way this one turned out. I think I know what went wrong so I'm going to do the next one with my wife's help. I can't stand the rip in the middle and I want more stars showing. I lined it up to high. It was only $40 so I'll give it another shot. I'm OCD about this stuff. With the experience of this one I feel I can do the next one right.

You have to look between the stripes. You can't see through them. Right now one falls right in my sweet spot for seeing out the back but I think the next flag will be OK. Obviously it varies with each person based on their height.

When you apply the next one, use the wet apply method and the the hinge method ..

Plenty of videos on youtube about the hinge method but what you do is line up your decal, right at the center of it put a piece of tape from top to bottom, peel one side first and cut the backing from the decal when you peel it off and spray water on the window and the decal, line it up and move it around , start from the middle and squeegee the water out going up, down and then outwards slowly ...

Then repeat the same for the other side, the water mixed it with a little baby shampoo and some alcohol so that it evaporates in the sun faster .. the baby shampoo you only need 2-3 drops enough to make it slick so you can move the decal around ....

Those are the two mistakes I made. I used plain water, no soap and I only sprayed the window not the decal. I did use the hinge method and that worked well.

Live and learn.

It's really easy with the water solution and the hinge method, just remember don't pull on it or stretch it ... let the squeegee do it's thing when you are pushing the water out ...

@Loudram, When you try it the second time around try it with the wet method instead of dry. It allows you to squeeze out the soapy water while flattening out the decal. Then you won't get ridges and bubbles much if at all. Here's a video with instructions:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfxRQ0DM9HI. I learned the same lesson putting one on my wife's Jeep hood. Had to buy a second sticker since it didn't come out right the first time doing it dry.

That looks great in the picture, sucks it didn't come out perfect on the first try. Good luck with the next one!

The new one is here. I'll probably put it on Wednesday or Thursday when I have off and the weather will be sunny and above 60.
