ARE THERE ANY OF YOU GUYS PARTS MEN.
I NEED a correct kit for I'm just going to say every thing under the front end.
Now My Dodge D250 is the very 1st diesel pickup sold at the LamPasas Tex. dealership.
So I was told.
BUT IT IS OLD FOR SURE.
so it's a 1989 dodge d250 Diesel.
2Wheel drive .
i'D LIKE mOOG PARTS NUMBERS SO I can swap number into other brands
I want new front coils ...If Possible that will lift my front end a Good inch if NOT 1 1/2 OR 2 INCHES.
I want ball joints upper & lowers .
tie rod ends. Pitman arm & Idler arm &
Any of the other items. I'd like for someone to give me a list so I can choose the parts that I really want . Unles the kit is cheaper. AS I recall there are 2 different sets of ball joint . Like early & late .
..........
..........But I'm wanting to do a complete front end repair on my chassis & Then drop another cab & fenders onto this.
...........
........THANKS
IN ADVANCE.

+1 on rockauto

Just pick out the pieces. I don't recommend exhaustively changing everything because before you know it you'll have broken a rusty control arm or 2. Grease what's there and see what it really needs. The diesels have the 4000# hardware.

I am happy with the moog 7226S coils; and I normally buy Quicksteer joints.

Damn you GUYS Said exactly what I expected. .
SORRY I'M NOT TRYING TO BE A jURK.
nOW i'VE BEEN a partsman since 1967. up until 1995. Then I went to work as a supervisor for Parts Plus ... . Then in about 2000 I went to work for Chrysler In a service advisor ... until 2010 & onto out side sales for a freightliner & cummins . I did a lot of public relations work & delivered orders up to 500 miles away at times .
...... But we had a hell of a time finding correct parts on this 1989 tr.
... SO I WAS hoping one of you guys on this sight might have dealt with this front ends more than I have.
.... In my opinion there is most likely a n early & a late.
I was hoping one of you could say ... Back up to the 1988 D250 Stuff.
.... AS I was in the parts house business when the very 1st trucks came out with Diesels in them. Neat story is our Local John Deere house got the very 1st Diesel. GUY Driving in came from picking it up ... Straight to my store & picked me up & took me for a RIDE around our loop around town. .. I was hooked.
.... SO That's why I think there were 2 sets of parts for our 1st 1989 Diesel trucks.
I hope this make's since..
.......................................................
....2nd response AS to not changing every part. I'm fine with this. That really why I said what I did ... I'll choose the parts I need .. But I figured I'd get scorched if I didn't intend to swap out every thing.
.
Now on this project . I'm actually planning on only swapping new Coils in place 1st ..& replacing only the Ball joint I mess up doing that job.
& Then building the rest of the project & After it's together & driving replace the rest of the front end parts that need to be changed .
..... I'm thinking that total front end could be a big dollar part of this build. & This is one of these project that could run aground Because I'm 72 already. & At least I'm retired.

& I have too many other project already stated ..
I have a big farm... It's pretty close to being up to date .. It's not hard to run. Just feed cows & Keep numbers in order. & Pay someone else to cut & bale the hay. Or just buy hay & Stack it & Feed it.
.... I've got a 1958 IH 404 GAS TRACTOR that's been whipping my ass form a couple of years . & I have a Case 830LP. that I need to remove the front end loader from. & wash it.. DE/GREASE IT. &
& i HAVE A 1980 BRONCO THAT i HAVE A 1995 300CID that we plan to get running so the Generation of Great Grand Kids can learn to dive in this Bronco . As my son Ken .. He learned to drive in it .... & His 4 kids all learned to drive in it. & 3 Other Kids learned in it.
.... Now there's an up & coming next gen of kids. But we got about 5 years for them.
....& I've got to keep my 1972 half cab Bronco rolling & It has had the 4BT in it for about the last 10+ years .
oh & I have a Jeep ZJ . ORVIS V8 that I also use around the farm . We took it to the ranch hunting in New Mexico ..This year.
....& The wife says the House & Yard needs some attention. Honey I mowed the yard last month.

Sorry.
But I prefer to go to my local Stores ... Napa & we do have a pretty good O'riley store. But our Local Carquest has me an account set up.& I buy from them at employee cost.
... HE SOLD OUT back when I was in business. & I did this for him . & Now He's got his Store back & He's returning my favor .

I'm not aware of an early/late on 80's balljoints. The '4000#' suspension was in use since the 70's. Check your door jamb sticker for the front GAWR. If it's over 3800# it's the '4000#' spec. Weird, I know....

The reasons I order from rockauto is the selection, and that local parts stores easily charge 20-40% more. Affordability is a big part of this hobby for me.

Well last night I pulled up Rock Auto web sight & go all the numbers I think are correct for my front end.
Bu I was thinking that the upper control arm assembly only came in a complete part on the early ones.
... But I wrote them all down in a booklet that I'M KEEPING for parts used . To maybe help whom ever gets it when I'm done.
