Where are you guys getting your brakes from? Wanted to do mine with the power stops but they are sold out everywhere. Any other brands you would recommend for 19 DT?

I put R1 Concept Geomet rotors and pads for my 2014. Good price and they stop great.

Really love the Raybestos Element-3 pads and rotors I put on the front of my 2019 Ram 1500 classic last year. So much better performance than the OEM. I got them through Rock Auto.

You have a 2019 with the brakes bad already? I have a 2016 2500 that I pull trailers with often & I have at least 25% of the pad left. 85k & counting...

Rust destroyed my brakes in 23,000 miles on my ‘18 PowerWagon! I live in the rust belt! I learned I need to dismantle and “clean”, grease, and anti-seize them at every tire rotation!

I went PowerStop Z36 from Rock Auto! PowerStop offers powder-coated calipers for just a couple bucks more than the stockers!

It’s a long story, but I was around $1800! It could’ve been a lot cheaper if I bought everything at once!

I started with the Z36 PowerStop setup…then had to order caliper brackets…then rear calipers…then drum hardware…lots of shipping expenses paid, some overnight!

I can't find the brake kits OR the braided brake lines anywhere.

On my 11 ram I used a set from Brake Lab. 4 slotted rotors and 2 sets of ceramic pads for under $250. shipped to my door. They stopped great and with the ceramic pads there was no brake dust

I just picked up some performance friction carbon mettalic pads for my 18... I have prob 1/2 pad left and 42k miles on her now but ended up getting some squeal. The PFC carbon mettalics bite harder than ceramic and have better fade resistance plus low dust. They will be harder on rotors though. I've just never been really happy with ceramics. Gona light sand the stock rotors and swap the pads probably.

I just ordered the pads last Fri and they arrived on Sunday from rock auto.

ROCK AUTO for the win.
But I go with OEM equivalent usually. Raybestos is what I usually buy when available.

I put the exact same brand and model pads and rotors on my ‘18 1500 SLT last year, front and back, and couldnt be happier. They are quiet and very little to no dust on the wheels. Got em at Rockauto.com as well. Prices may be a tad higher now though

RockAuto seems to have power stop kits in stock.

For those that live in the "rust belt" I have found that custom fitting my pads, i.e. grind / file on ears of pad have helped decrease the tendency to hang up over time. Had 05 F150 and their front brakes are notorious for it. I would custom fit them and stopped having the issues.

Long and short is I make sure they slide like hot knife in butter with my pinky finger before adding any brake grease.

In addition, I clean and polish or replace any guide pins the calipers ride on and then reinsert with fresh grease and confirm smooth as glass operation one guide piins before reinstalling.

In short I spend an extra amount of time assuring everything is clean smooth and lightly lubed with brake grease before reinstall. And once installed but before stepping on brakes while tires are off I make sure they move as they should in the system by hand. You should be able to move caliper in and out 1/4 inch or more if properly reinstalled and before brake pressure is applied and pushes piston in to place.

I also tend to go thru several pairs of disposable gloves to assure cleanliness on all parts and not contamination on pads or rotor faces.

It does look like the bottom of your trucks gets a beating from the salt! I thought Ohio salt was killer but that beats it! I liked when I lived in Iowa they used a 50/50 salt sand mixture so the rusting didn't seem as bad then. About 2 or 3 times a year I also spray the whole underneath of my truck with WD-40. Seems to help a lot.
