Not know when, know why, she likes Red Shoes @@@, red, common place, hence the Red Beast I own.
Where are we going again? Why is it getting warm and why are we in this hand basket?!

Toto? Where on earth is Toto?!

(P.S. Does your Red Beast come with a forked trailer hitch?)

EcoDiesel
Son has a 2022 Ecodiesel with 3.21s. After his 10K oil change and talking to the service manager he decided to upgrade to an aftermarket tune. 13k miles on the truck now coming back from the tune installation Detroit MI to Dayton OH we got 32.5 mpg. This was running 75 mph with a little bit of stomp and play to test it out. He is stoked. More responsive less DEF better mileage engine brake and more available power.

Totally jelly I've got about 12 months before I am ready to order a new truck. See if I can make that million mile marker first.
What tune was this?

Do you know if it's possible to tune and return to stock and tune again?

I'm getting decent MPG - 24 MPG between 75 and 90+ MPH through parts of flat midwest - but to pull 32+ MPG with these new gas prices would be nearly ********.

Thank you.

Detroit to Dayton 32.5 mpg? All I-75, no stop and go...big deal! We get 36-38 mpg on I-80 with our Pentastar 3.6.

36mpg with a gas engine in a heavy truck? I would like proof of that. My wife’s 2013 Toyota Corolla gets 32mpg city and 36hwy with a 1.8l 4 cylinder.

In other words though this is why I wanted a diesel to begin with but couldn’t find one in The configuration I wanted. So I ended up with a hemi getting 12mpg. Lol. Wish I could justify swapping for a eco diesel. If I buy a newer suv maybe I can convince the wife to buy a jeep with the eco diesel but she wants a rav4. The new ones are nice and get around 26-30mpg rated. But the eco diesel with the 8 speed in a jeep sounds like a nice setup for an all around suv

You would be looking at a Jeep Grand Cherokee or wrangler.

Well I want to know which tunner and what tune your son got? Inquiring minds want to know!
The tune is from Green Diesel Engineering
What tune was this?

Right now the compliant tune for the Gen3 EcoDiesel platform is a bench flash, they're working on making it a flashable tune with a handheld programmer like they offer for the Gen2 platform.

Yea. Unfortunately the rav4 premium is only $36,000 and the Jeep Wrangler 4 door with the eco diesel is around $50,000 so that’s going to be a hard one to convince. It would be easier for me to swap my truck for a newer ram with the eco diesel but I’ve already told her that if I’m swapping my truck it would have to be for a 2500 Cummins since we want to pull a trailer in the future. The newer body ram 1500 eco diesel would do fine pulling it since they’ve increased the payload but I’m not a big fan of the newer body style. I’ve seen a few that I like. Usually ones that are lifted and off-road bumpers or the new body rebel but I like having the longer bed and the rebel doesn’t offer that.

Well, I know someone who drives from Rochester to Oswego, NY every day on state route 104 with a Pentastar in a Quad Cab, 4x4, and a bed-mounted tool box who says he steadily gets 28 MPG.

That could be said for anything said in here!

However, i know this person personally and have known him for some time. I can attest to his long-term veracity. Besides it's not his personal truck, it's his work truck owned by his employer. He's always been a Ford guy. And of course, Ford people never lie.

My daughter is looking to buy a rav4 hybrid. Suggested she waits until The term COVID car is obsolete.

Yup. I told my wife it’ll have to be next year. After the covid car prices go down. I’m not a hybrid fan. They actual have one setup now called the prime that is a bit more appealing. It’s designed like the etorque setup. Hybrid is somewhat counterproductive in my opinion since you have to have the extra battery weight and electric motor on top of the gas drivetrain which reduces your overall mpg with the gas engine.

Is is hand calculated mpg or from the lie-o-meter? Based on my wife's old 2018 journey with the v6 with auto six speed, it was not as heavy as a 1500 4x4 truck at best would get 25 mpg (hand calculated) on flat land in the Midwest at 65 MPH so have hard time believing 28 mpg.

My youngest kid has a 2020 Rav 4 hybrid and she loves it so much it impressed my wife so I bought her a 2021 a Highlander Hybrid, it was the smart move as it gets better mpg then her Journey did...

The Best I got on MY 16 ED was like 25.5 in ideal conditions. It may have gotten more, but to be honest, I neva really paid a heck of a lot of attention to MPG. When I bought MY 19 Hemi in 2018, I took an immediate 4050 mile trip to the East Coast (TX - NC - NJ - DE - NC - TX), and got almost 22 mpg (21-2 TO 21.8 // broke in on trip, started with 450 miles on odometer) Hand Calculated over the length of the trip doing the math with receipts and miles. Sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less. But I could not complain. Ran 89 Octane and had those SRA's on the truck. With Falkens, I get 1 to 1/2 mpg less on the Hemi. But hey, if U buy a Hemi, maybe mpg not the most important thing, LOL. But then, I's just a BOIRD.

Must be something wrong with all of the pentastars I have had in minivans - they never exceeded 27-28 mpg on the flat.
