Hey guys I’m looking for some new tires for my 2015 2500 Longhorn Cummins and was looking at the Kenda kleaver tires. I like how they look and was wondering if anyone has tried them and how they liked them. Thanks

Its awfully expensive for a chinese tire. I would think you would want some thing made in No America.

I thought that it said on the tire made in Taiwan but I could be mistaken. Do you have any suggestions for other tires. I want something fairly aggressive because it’s a work truck and I get in the mud quite a bit. Thanks

You could start by looking at tire rack to point you in a general direction. You could also give Cooper AT3 XLT tires a look.

No personal experience but know a couple guys who run the RT and are super impressed. It’s tread is similar to the Ridge Grappler but computer sipped and a little more aggressive. The road noise is similar and the wet traction is better, again per their observation.
And yes, they are made in Taiwan. I’ve ran a lot of their motorcycle tires and loved them. They are proud of them with their pricing though.

Yes Taiwan, china, still asian made tires. Take a look at the mickey Thompson deegan 38. MT

The cooper sst's look really nice and aggressive as well. Based on their UPC , they would appear to made in the US. They are sourcing a lot of truck tires to china now.

I have never run either of the above on my vehicles. I am pretty much exclusive to Michelin. But then again, I am not running MT tires on anything. I have driven a ram with the mickeys but they were the ATs and was really impressed, that is why I mentioned them. But the MTs seems more what you are looking for, any way I am more for No american made tires. I run some chinese stuff on one of my cars, haven't liked anything , and it burns up tires lke nothing i have owned or treaded before. I am not sure , why I don't put michelins on it.

Frankly, the 35" Kenda Klever RTs I put on my Power Wagon have been one of my favorite tires ever...and I'm a bit of a tire snob...
(Plus 5-35x12.5x17 mounted and balanced for $1200 is a steal too)
As to road noise they are quieter than the Duratracs they replaced.
I liked them so much I bought a set of the AT2s for my wife's Trailhawk and those may be even better...

One of the worst tires I have seen, out of round problems, the lugs get shredded very easily, hard to balance something about them create a lot of vibrations ...

They probably fixed a lot of those issues but you do get what you pay for and these are not tires I would ever buy.

For about the same price you can get the Cooper STT Pros one of my favorite tires ...

Stay away from these Kenda Klevers man seriously, trust me ...

Thanks for the info. I run about 50,000 miles a year so I want a tire without too much road noise and that will have a fairly long life. I understand that’s quite a lot to ask from a tire but that’s why I posted on here to get opinions on different ones before I buy some.

Kenda has been making tires for a long time. Solid product IMO. They started making auto tires around the turn of the century. Actually partnered with Cooper for a few years to market those tires. Also built a plant in China that they share with Cooper. I think Cooper started making all their truck tires in China last year and their east regional HQ is in Shanghai.

As mentioned above I might look at their R/T line. Kind of a hybrid between the A/T and M/T. More aggressive than the A/T but better on the road than the M/T.

20 years of making tires, is a baby in the business. It may be a solid protect. But lets get real for a minute. I have had tires ( michelins ) on my blazer. ( Canada made) That last a decade without flat spotting, get 70k out of them wear wize maybe more. No dryrot even after a decade. Today's chinese tires dry rot before 2years, I have relatives with tire failure and dry rot in less than 2 years. replaced reluctantly by costco. All this is relatively new phenomenon. Since china manufacturing. China production has always been about cost effectiveness and never about quality. The bottom line , your tires are one of the most important if not the most important safety component of the car. You can buy chinese, I am going to consider every other alternative first. I know its getting more difficult. But I can assure you one thing, I would say 90% of all the tires I have owned in my life have been made in North America, Some france and germany. Only 1-2 sets in china, and i eat this in 20k miles or less, even rears. and felt no confidence in handling ,especially in inclimate weather. not saying , I will never put chinese tires on the car, but they would have to give me a really good reason to do so. There is a lot of stuff coming out of mexico. I am not saying this is great, but Id give it go before chinese if given the choice.

As for the coopers, yes a lot of truck tires are being sourced over there in china., I have referenced the SST. And noted that the UPC is american made. UPC codes are issued by country of origin. So, that should help you buy tires and other products.

You won't get close to 50k miles with these tires, I honestly would recommend the Nitto Ridge Grapplers if you are looking for 50k mile tires since you want something aggressive, I have them on my truck and they have done pretty good when I go up and down the dirt roads to my wife's mothers ranch ....

With most MTs you won't get 50k miles and some hybrid ATs you can or get close to 50k a

Thanks for all the replies. Another question here. I just got a leveling kit for my truck from Nick@GotExhaust and am wondering how big of a tire I can put on before it will rub. I’ll be using my stock rims.

How did we get from tires to anything. I am pretty sure the companies that build the most reputable and highest rated tires are not chinese tires. In fact considering that china out produces all other countries combined, but has none of the highest rated brands , except maybe of couple of their budget tires, should say something.

I am not going to bash china, there has been some okay stuff out of there, but its getting much worse, When you dont have any competition, you don't need to even meet bare minimum quality anymore. I have an american made refrigerator, its about 80 years old and still going strong, I am not selling it , because the new stuff all made in china and asia, needs to be replaced ever 4-7years. Unfortunately, we dont have any american made appliances anymore.

Some Nitto tires are made in china and I have Nitto Ridge Grapplers ... you are just a little sensitive about this topic? lol ..
I don’t think he is. He is simply pointing out how one individual is constantly bleating about it. That individual needs to really give it a rest.

Ah !! lol ... I went back and now I noticed ...

Nothing wrong with China products though, I will tell you this, the Arkon wheels from custom offsets, they are made in a factory in China and everyone who talks crap about Chinese products are all obsessed with these wheels on Instagram and youtube lol ...
