What exactly is this Ram Connect? I keep getting emails about not completing my Ram Connect enrollment. Do I need this?

If you have a 2022 or newer truck, this is what runs all connected services. I.e. Guardian etc

Follow on question to FL-RAM, is it worth paying the subscription fee?

So these are the main services I was talking about. The Safety and Security is free for 10 years. The Assistance includes your remote start from your phone and other things and that is free for 6 months. The Navigation is also free for 6 months.

From 2022: window sticker: SiriusXM® with 6–Month Radio Sub Call 800–643–2112.. Ram Connect (Connected Services) with Trial, Apple CarPlay® Google Android Auto™... Uconnect® 5 with 8.4–Inch Touch Screen Display

YUP< replaces, new name for U connect on select 22 models. Looks like free for 6 months than pay afterward. Boy do I luv my simple U connect 4 w/o all the sos, Guardian, OTA's etc BS.

I don't think it's worth it, personally. It's kind of cool to be able to start (or lock/unlock) your truck from anywhere, via your phone, but I've used it all of once in the year or so I've owned my truck. And that was really only to show a buddy how it worked, from the ice while ice fishing.

I've just started getting the e-mails about paying for it, and I think I'll pass. If you worked in an office or something, I could see it making a bit of sense regarding the remote start. But it's not cheap, and in my case, something that isn't used enough to warrant the coin. Especially since I can almost always hit my truck with the remote, when needed.

That said there may be other features on UCONNECT 5 that make it more valuable, or individual use cases as mentioned, for others to want to have it.

I only got it free for 90 days in Texas. I let it go but then my kids paid for the subscription for Christmas. Gotta say though, I don’t think I’ve used it for anything since they did.

I took delivery on January 20th and the Ram Connect service is only 3 months. I’m going to keep it active even though I don’t use it much. It is nice to remote start during hot/cold weather and just in case I need to remotely lock/unlock my truck, I will have the option available.

Updating this post. Since it’s been 100+ degrees so many days this summer I’ve used it almost daily to start my truck to cool off before getting in after being parked out in the sun all day at work.

on your rear view mirror, it may read 911 & assist
911 is a emergency call number
( if you are out of State, it sometimes takes hours to come )
better to use a cell phone, if you can reach it. That way, you can tell them where you are.

ASSIST is a switchboard in Auburn Hills, Michigan, Ram Headquarters
You call them for assistance when you are broke down & basically they read answers from Owners Manual, etc.

RAMConnect & Uconnect apps and websites utilize the same info obtained. I actually use BOTH apps on my 2018 Limited because the Uconnect is accurate with health reports and such, RAMconnect has discrepancies. But the RAMConnect App is available on my Samsung watch, Uconnect is not. The Uconnect App for Android on my phone is preferable over the RAM App.
Needing it is a personal preference that no one can answer for you. Many people bad mouth it but never even used it or don't have a use for it. I use it for checking fuel level, tire pressures, Remote Locking/unlocking & starting.

That's how the RAM App appears on a smart watch.
Below is a screen shot of the main screen on Uconnect App.
Screenshot_20230807_180535_Uconnect.jpg
The INFO screen shows Oil service %, Tire Pressures (all 6), fuel level, and health report. Location page locates the truck in the last place you parked it and shows on the map your current location.
