Whats up everyone, New to the forums here hope everyone’s enjoying three holidays, So recently i was in a car accident someone blew a stop sign and t-***** the drivers side of my ‘16 Ram 1500 smashing in the bed and bent the drivers side rear axle, i went ahead and took it upon my self to buy a brand new axle shaft from my local dodge dealer and replaced it. The truck drove great afterwards for roughly 3 hours then all of a sudden started making a bunch of noise before I could even pull the truck over to the shoulder of the road the drive shaft had snapped off the rear end. Now I had to have it towed home. The passengers side wheel is locked up completely and the drivers side moves somewhat if I push on the truck it also won’t go into gear (I don’t mean move I mean when I select drive reverse etc on the knob it just continuously blinks. The 4WD system won’t work either I tried and I’m getting an error message on my display that 4X4 system unavailable any advice/tips and help would be GREATLY appreciated thank you so much.

Was there an insurance claim after the accident? Sounds like the damage was more severe than originally thought. The repairs that you did may have exasperated the damage.

If you were in an accident and it wasn't your fault, why wouldn't you just let a shop handle all repairs??

If it was a hard enough big to bend an axle then you probably have differential damage also. The whole rear housing can be out of alignment.
