The 10th anniversary option lists "Premium quilted leather trimmed seats". As soon as they list it in the package it indicates the seats are different. When I ordered mine I was well aware of the cloth inserts. It was all over the internet in videos before you could order these trucks. If a dealer or consumer did any research they should have known.

Good luck. had a little different deal with the way they are advertised--misdavertised their powerr seats--proved them wrong but they said they were right--no areas of customer service in certain areas anymore

I'm not really sure what your complaint is, or what was mis-advertised. It's a mix of quilted and stitched leather with some cloth trim. I find it to be tasteful, classy and a cut above the non-anniversary Limited upholstery.
The perforated part is still leather, but perforated for ventialltion feature.

I think if you look closely you will see the seating surfaces are leather and other parts man-made. Been common for many years across the industry. Nissan lost a class action law-suit some years ago when an owner notices part of his seats were man-made which was not disclosed. since then mfgs have been stating it is a combination of both. Be very hard to find a vehicle without some partial man-made seats, and since Ram has the best interiors I'm sure there are no pick-ups with all leather

It is pretty standard practice in the auto industry and has been for many years. You only get leather where your body touches: steering wheel, gear shifter, arm rest seat latch and lumbar. Everything else is matching vinyl

You have heated, and cooled seats, reason why..area with the pin holes other than leather. Leather trim is fine with me. Heat can shrink leather

waiting for my new build, just got my VIN, mine will be
leather trimmed as well.

Our 2005, 3500 had cloth, I make leather for it, but the seats are not heated nor cooled, doesn’t take much to insert leather panel in the seat.

There are victims and there are volunteers. When you got to the dealer's lot and saw the truck you had the option of walking away from the deal but you chose not to do so. A bit late to be whining now.

My last pickup was supposed to have tow mirrors but it had the standard truck mirrors. I told the salesperson that I was not going to take ownership of the truck unless it had tow mirrors and the dealer quickly agreed to put them on and at no cost to me. I could have meekly driven off with the truck and then paid for mirrors and the labor to install them as many others would have done.

Once you take possession of a vehicle you lose 99% of your bargaining power. With my current SUV the dealer prep person had screwed up the front bumper with the license plate holder mounting. I told the dealer the front needed to be replaced or he needed to find a new buyer for the SUV. He had the bumper replaced rather than lose the sale. It never hurts to ask, but it does require a little backbone.

I do believe that most of the vehicles that we drive do not have real leather in them. The exception would be the high-end vehicles such as Bentleys, Jaguar, and Rolls Royce. Think about this for a minute... When you look at your "leather" seats, do you see any variations at all? Nope. And consider the number of hides that would be needed in a modern automotive plant. For example, a Bentley utilizes 14 hides in the production of one car, mostly due to the fact that they are trying to match color and variations in the hides for aesthetics. Another point... I have a rather expensive 100% leather aviator's jacket that I wear. Without proper care, it shows wear quite quickly. Can you imagine how quickly your truck seats would wear with your butt sliding across them during the life of the vehicle?
I have a Laramie with "leather". Is it real leather? Probably not, but it is what everyone refers to as leather so I accept it for what it is. I don't have enough money to buy a Bentley, so I must settle for my Ram

They do. But they also have synthetics and cloth, depending on the surface. Leather also has different grades, thicknesses, etc. OEM leather from domestics does not tend to be the best and is seldom worth the cost, IMO. Something like Katzkin is all real leather and of a quality that holds up over many many years.

Another point... I have a rather expensive 100% leather aviator's jacket that I wear. Without proper care, it shows wear quite quickly.

That goes back to quality and type. You probably have 'fashion leather' which is thin for comfort as it's light weight and easily flexes. Compare to a real motorcycle jacket, which will be much heavier and much stiffer but have great abrasion resistance.

Spot on! Every domestic vehicle I’ve owned with leather seats has been “seating surface” and that leather hasn’t held up as well as the leather on Asian vehicles I’ve owned. Heck the vinyl and cloth sections have held up far better than the leather portion on domestics. My daughters lowly 2012 Civic with over 200k miles barely shows wear on the leather seats while my wife’s $40k 2016 Ford are cracking and splitting with less than 80k miles. And yes they are cleaned and conditioned every few months. I’m happy with my cloth seats in the BigHorn.

some one mentioned motorcycle jackets

I have a custom made motorcycle jacket, a old Mexican craftsman made it out of Horse Hide.
I am not sure, but i think i had it made around 1985, i have not even looked at it for about 10 years
It is in a dark dry closet, with unique camping equipment that has never been used, like a unused, unopened

Yeah, no. This is a very heavy, and very expensive aviator's jacket that was given to me by a company that I flew for. In fact, it is so heavy that I have to hang it on a special heavy duty wide hangar.
