Alpha Rex DRL’s

Hi folks,
This is my first post here.
I put Alpha Rex pro series in my ‘14 Ram 1500 that had projectors in it originally. Wired everything as per the instructions and everything worked perfectly until I used my sunroof, (which is the same fuse they recommended to tap into for the DRL’s) and cooked the harness they provided to run the DRL’s. Anyway, my question is, using alfaOBD can I skip using that harness? And if so what changes do I need to make in the body computer to enable them to work the way they should?

To use the oem drl function, you'd need to isolate the wire from the oem plug from the alpharex harness and run it to the little bullet connector in the alpharex headlights I believe. Or, you can relocate the fuse tap to the cigarette lighter plug and call it a day. It sounds like you may have had the fuses in the wrong position on the fuse tap (you did use a fuse tap, right? )

Thanks for the reply. And no I didn't have a fuse tap at the time and it was only recommended in the instructions. A momentary lapse of judgment on my part. Any idea which pin in the OEM harness is the one for the DRLs?

@NLghost if you originally OEM projectors in the truck, the harness that adapts the Alpharex headlights has a wire for the DRLs. The OEM projector wiring has the dedicated DRL circuit which can be enabled with AlfaOBD.

@NLghost once you have the DRLs wired to the to the truck dedicated DRL circuits, they work like factory programming.
You don't use the DRL module that was included with the headlights.

Same situation and product, but Mine did not come with stock projectors,. It uses low voltage high beams for DRL, any idea how to find a dedicated wire for drl, without going the route of connecting to sunroof circuit?

Making it as stock as possible? Like with factory projection headlamps

I have been trying to figure out the same thing. I have the luxx series and am having problems with DRL's. When I had DRL turned on with AlphaODB it was using my turn signals for it. So the uppoer LED bar was white and the bottom was yellow. Are you saying I should get rid of the adapter that plugs into the battery and the DRL adapter?
