That must have been a culture shock, moving from Pembroke to Ancaster/Hamilton.
Pembroke was pretty mellow when I was there, periodically for work in the '90s.
.
I started my life in the City, North York, and then moved to Port Hope/Cobourg in my high school years.
I then went back to the City (Peel Region) for work after high school. Spent many years in this area, too.
Albeit, throughout my entire life I was continually in the Ottawa Valley area (Barry's Bay, Pembroke, Deep River, etc.) as my grandparents lived there and we visited a lot every year.
At one point I had enough of the city and moved to Pembroke for almost four years to get out of the concrete. However, I was scouted by a head-hunter and was roped into coming back to the city for what is now my eighth year at the company I am with.
I love my career, and my daughter is now almost six and starting her roots in Ancaster/Hamilton area and is in Gr1 now.
I'm almost 50 now, and when my Angel is an adult and ready to really start her life's journey, Dad is back up to the wilderness and retiring with my simple small home, truck, quad, sled, dog, and hopefully a great lady as well...lol.
