Why did you buy a new one then?I normally don't drive all that much but when I DO drive, I want the option to transport multiple people comfortably. I live in a cold rural area so I wanted 4x4. I also like DIY projects so I wanted the longbed. The crew cab 4x4 longbed serves me well.
That said, in order to get certain options I wanted on my '21 3500, I had to get a bunch of other stuff I didn't want:
cell phone hookup crap - don't need it
media screen/backup camera - don't need it
sensors that tell me I'm getting too close to something - don't need 'em
DEF system - haven't had trouble yet but seems like a ticking timebomb
Some of the modern bells and whistles can be nice but those are just more things that can go wrong.
They do if your rear seats recline. The rear seat DOESN'T fold down.
Why is this a dislike? Are you racing it?21 Limited only dislike speed limiter set at 105 !!!
Not on my truck or any truck that I would want. If I wanted a Cadillac I would have bought a Cadillac. That's a matter of opinion. With the possible exception of the sunroof I never use, I think everything on my truck belongs on a truck. Maybe you meant to say that these things don't belong on your truck?
Do I detect a hint of judgement there? Not on my truck or any truck that I would want. If I wanted a Cadillac I would have bought a Cadillac.
I have a 2020 Ram 2500, the only thing that is negative I have found is that the DC port for the Radar detector is on the passenger side of the vehicle making it inconvenient to silence the radar connector, Depending the size of the driver it could be impossible to reach the silence button. What would you tell a guy who is considering a RAM for his next and first full size truck, that is negative about RAM? I pretty much know all the Pros...which is why i've put RAM at the top of my list....my second choice is a Toyota Tundra (I'm in a 2nd Gen Tacoma now). I'd really like to know what kind of problems to expect that is pretty typical with Ram trucks. I really love the looks of the Rebel, but i dig the the Laramie with the Night package....those would be my 2 choices. I'm open to hear about engine choices....I am primarily a city driver, this would be my daily driver.but intend to do some road trips with the family. I do not tow anything...not a boat guy....or a camper guy...I go old school...lol
Issue number one is prominent across all of the CDJR, and surely after this year they will fix it. So many people hate it especially those that do off roading or camping in groups. This feature seems to be nothing but a nuisance. Im sure there are a few out there that really appreciate it but those few are far between the ones that don't haha.I've had a '22 1500 Laramie with 5.7 hemi etorque for a week and the one thing that really annoys me is there is no setting to disable the 3 loud honks if the key fob exits the vehicle with it still running. I don't need my truck to honk at me when I step out to grab my mail from the box or shut my gate.
As far as the etorque.... it's annoying at stop signs or in traffic when you're not coming to a complete stop for an extended time. The video I watched about it made it seems like the on and off was flawless but there is a very noticable lurch. You can easily turn it off with a button but the setting resets when you turn off the vehicle.
The last thing I've had an issue with is my android auto frequently disconnecting but I believe I found a solution today after noticing it happening in the same parts of a city I drive through. My android phone had Bluetooth scanning on (a setting in Settings -> Location ) and disabling it seems to have fixed it. Obviously not a ram issue....I believe my phone was trying to handshake a pair to random Bluetooth signals.
There are a lot of things I love about the truck so far, but these are my 'gripes.'
My 2022 Hybrid SUV beeps when backing up. Apparently this is a regulation, so it can't be turned off and it wouldn't be so bad but for the fact that the beep measures 82 decibels. That's right, 82 and still within regs, apparently. My poor neighbors, all retired, one gives me the stink eye now. People turn and look when I back up...beep, beep, beep. Luckily, my wife was driving it one day and the dash reported an error and that error was cross traffic alert was not functioning. Happy days now and I turn down the dealer whenever they offer to fix it. No thanks. That’s where I like how Toyota does it. You get a repetitive beep and not a horn honk which is a good reminder as there are a lot of idiot hybrid drivers walking out of their car and leaving them on. It’s happened to me even with that beep when using a valet.
Last, if my truck shows up and it honks at me when I get out of the car with the key in it I suppose I won’t get out of the car with the key in it if I can’t help it. But leaving the wife in the car doing more shopping etc. etc. just leave the key in the car. My Ford made that awful beeping noise with the horn and we just got used to how to game it.
Yes, I agree with this and which is one thing which makes it difficult to make a purchase decision. I try to keep the value proposition along the lines of what the vehicle can do and build quality, but things like this make me grimace because this would be my last vehicle and while not having power passenger seating seems trivial, if it's your last vehicle, suddenly it becomes an issue which is only remedied by upgrading to the package which provides it.Or power passenger seat? $55K and the passenger seat is manual...WTH?
