While driving today I got the message “Immediate Air Suspension Service/Repair Required”. Wondering if this is an easy fix for the dealer and/or if this is a common occurrence. Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks barr. I made an appointment but the main dealer around here is always booked up. Have to wait until the 5th to get it in. Glad I picked up the extended warranty.

I’m hopeful the issue is resolved, but won’t know for sure until we get a few more cold days in.

So initially the dealership recalibrated the system. I was then told it was good to go. I picked it up on the way to work and then proceeded to work, which is about 45 minutes away from the dealership. About 20 minutes into the drive the same trouble message appears. I drop it back off that evening.

It took a few days and they finally called me to say that they had reached out to Chrysler for assistance as they couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Chrysler directed them to a service bulletin, which referenced replacing the air compressor. This was on backorder and I was told could take a few weeks. Fortunately they called me back without n a few days and asked I bring the truck back in as they received the part from another dealership that had one in stock.

Fast forward to last Tuesday when they told me the truck was good to go. Paperwork completed I go to start my truck. Upon doing so I saw they left it in Off-Rod 1, so I go to lower it when bam..... the same trouble message. I took a pic for proof. The service guy is dumbfounded and says they’ll get it to the tech again.

So I finally go back yesterday to pick it up. They said they could not get that trouble message to reappear. It almost begins sounding like they doubted me, when he says a different code/message came up but it’s nothing to worry about. I press for more info and he states it read “Failed to achieve ride height.”. He said they checked for leaks and recalibrated it again and did not receive any more codes.

As to the warranty, I purchased the lifetime warranty/ $100 deductible when I bought the truck used about a year ago.

Hello,

I have been having the same issue this pass week but i feel like the cold weather contributed to the sensor issue. Did Anyone attempted to warm up the compressor to see if that could be a fix? Also I'm unlucky because warranty is out so I'm not sure what is the financial damage. Any thoughts?

I just ran into the same exact error. Could any of you who ran into this please post an update as to what the dealer did to resolve the issue? It was about 15 degrees this morning and 35 now - so I am not sure if this is also weather related.

Below 25 degrees, mine sometimes pops up the Immediate suspension message. It flashes on and off. It is definitely temperature related. As long as it maintains height, I ignore it. Also don't lower it to exit when cold. Works great in warmer temps.

I just started having the same problem with my 2014 Laramie Limited. Dealer can’t replicate the issue…nothing wrong with bags or compressor….but they said there was a bulletin stating that there is a known problem with the air suspension module. No recall however. $800 for module…plus labor. I may just have it replaced unless it’s something I can do myself

I had a2015 Laramie that did the same thing. Service air suspension and would release all the air out of the air bags. I ended up replacing the two rear air bags because they had tiny pin holes that were leaking. Fixed the problem for me.

I feel your pain. I had four vehicles with air suspension and every one had issues. On two Lincoln town cars i just deleted everything and install grand marquis springs. Ride the same but no ride height adjustment. Had a caddy that I traded in after the third time the system went out. Lost my A$$ because it was bad when traded. My son has a 4 year old Land Rover that has been in the shop a few times for air suspension issues. Last time the dealer kept it for four months awaiting parts from England. Seems like they ride great for three years and then crap out, whether it’s a $45,000 or $125,000 vehicle. Never again !!!!!

Bumping this. Same issue. As with some previous posters, problem started in the cold weather. Just now ordered AlfaOBD to try to figure out what's going on. Not seeing any obvious issues when driving, though.

Seems as I have read threads on here in the past, basically the system in the cold gets condensation in it and causes problems. I have the system on the rear of my 2500, but I dont drive it in the winter, so I hope I can dodge this bullet?

Cold weather can indeed affect the air suspension system by freezing fluids and affecting air compression efficiency. While warming up the compressor might temporarily alleviate issues by improving fluid flow and compressor efficiency, addressing underlying problems like faulty sensors or moisture within the system is crucial for a long-term fix.

This message typically appears due to issues such as damaged wiring, faulty sensors, excessive stress on the suspension, or a faulty compressor. While it can sometimes be resolved by a simple system reset, it often requires professional diagnosis and repair, especially for older models known for wiring problems or moisture-induced deterioration. Immediate attention is advised to prevent further damage.
