Said this before. Sulfer/weird smell under hood and comes in cab. Replaced battery. Its not over charging. One dealer mentioned the electric fan deal. I replaced electric fan and shroud. Still stinks. One dealer said smells like coolant. I pressure tested system. No leaks. One dealer said cat or mouse ****. Degreased engine. Still smells. I just noticed a electrical plug on pass. side of grill behind the active shutter that is not plugged into anything. Should it be. I have no engine light. 2019 ram 1500 classic 5.7 4x4. I bought this new. Never wrecked or anything.

Super weird not much help.

Plug could be a block heater.

Miles? Recent service? Coolant smells will permeate and smell long after any minor spillage.

I was surprised at no signs of chewing to try to get out. Either froze to death or roasted.

What are the exact conditions when you can smell it under the hood or in the cab?

Electric fan? Why did they recommend that? Hemis do have a smaller E-fan for the a/c, but it's buried behind the rad shroud and engine driven cooling fan.

Did you check your exhaust for a Sulphur smell? If so change gas stations. Maybe they're selling cheap (as in quality) gas which contains more sulphur.

It's not a Block heater plug. 62,ooo mi. Hasn't had any coolant spilled anywhere. There's a star case saying electric fan /shroud causing smell. Now I don't think electric fan is working.

Well that stinks! Sorry, couldn’t resist. Hope you find the source.

It's not the catalytic converter, is it?

Do you burn 91-93 octane.

Years ago, a bunch of us had Honda 919s. That bike was fuel injected, all but the "California Model" did not have cats. The bike was set up to run on 87. But guys being guys, would put 93 in them. The 919 had a high exhaust which created a swirling vortex behind the rider and stunk up a bunch of riding jackets.

What exhaust are you running?

Dumb question but is the heater core leaking?

Haven't changed cabin filter yet. Smells like coming from pass side radiator area. Now I think electric fan quit working. Shouldn't it always run when a/c is on? What temp should it kick on?

That's a good question on the E-fan because not only have I never laid eyes on it on my 2019 classic (can't see it w/out pulling things apart), I've never heard it run over the engine driven cooling fan.

Odd that your smell is coming only from the pass side under the hood. Not much there other than the engine air filter box, etc.

Not sure this will apply to your trouble or not but.... Ensure the condensate drain hole/line is clear which should dump out under the truck. It was a somewhat common issue that if that drain hole plugged that condensate (water) would remain in the HVAC system plenum and then it would create mold/mildew stuff which in turn would stink up the cab when the system was running...more so in the summer months I believe. My daughters Ford Focus was very bad for this issue. Here's a solution to the air pollution. see vid link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uAjkr_SuME
