Hello,

I have installed these Bilstein shocks with a 4"lift (sames as the original Mopar 4"liftkit) and I am not happy with them.
They keep bouncing and rolling like an old Caddy.

I have contacted Icon they say they don't have a shock for a 4" lift.

Witch shocks are better then these Bilsteins?

Thanks and greetings,

Erik.

Superlift/Mopar uses a 2" rear lift spring in their 4" kits. - the SL140 spring. I am currently running said spring with Icon 2.0 1-3" lift shocks, and love the ride!

Fox or King should be able to have some options. Not cheap, but then again, how’s your ride right now? :Big Laugh:

Thnx!

I already did that for some other parts (sway bar end in front and back and lower control arms) but unfortunately never get an answer back...

Bilsten 33-185569 length specs are 29.7" extended 17.91" compressed
So you can do for example
Fox 2.0 985-24-020 rear 29.55 18.45, you may need to add 1" bumpstop if you don't have enough currently. this is the cheapest option in Fox 2.0

or
CST Dirt Series 2.0 CSR-5533 rear 28.25 17.20
CST Dirt Series 2.0 with RES CSR-6533 rear 28.25 17.20
Similar to Fox 2.0, you have the option of race shock with no res or with reservoir
You'll have 1" less droop but a little more up travel depending on your bumpstop setup (how much bumpstop do you have currently ?)

or
Fox 2.0 + RES 985-24-022 rear 29.45 17.35

or
Fox 2.0 + RES + CDC 985-26-022 rear 29.45 17.35

or
Fox 2.5 + RES 883-24-024 rear 29.39 18.25
Fox 2.5 + RES + DSC 883-26-024 rear 29.39 18.25
You may need to add 1" more bumpstop depending on what you have currently.

Last message I see is from December 2019 about headers.

Have a look at replacing the rear control arms and track bar while your doing the shocks. Lots of brands and choices but they make a huge difference over the stockers.

When the range of travel is too great the shock is not able to do what it is designed to do, minimize rebound with the springs. In England they are referred to as dampeners which is a more accurate term.

I experienced this with my 2500 truck with a 3700 lb camper in the bed. The fix was to add SuperSprings to the rear leaf springs to support the weight. After that there were no problems with the shock which did not need to work nearly as hard.

I have spent many years with 4WD trucks on trails of Rubicon levels of difficulty and the very last thing I wanted to do was raise the center of gravity. A 1-inch lift for larger tires (along with fender extensions and mud flaps) is one thing but a 4-inch lift if pure vanity.
