I have a 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie. The USB port on the console doesn't recognize all the songs on my USB drive. It only shows 167 out of 1086. It worked great on the 2019 Ram Laramie I traded in on this one. Has anyone else had this issue and what the fix might be?

Thanks,

Are all the music files the same format? How is the USB drive files formated?
Is there anything different about the 167 you can see?

Did you discover any solutions? I have a 2022 2500 limited and have the same issue with the USB. A bunch of music shows/ plays perfectly, but a number of albums don't show up. All the music is formatted in FLAC.

FLAC is 100% working (it's the only format I use), it's just that only 70% or so of the USB is indexing. There doesn't seem to be any way to force a re-index of the USB

Good evening; 2022 Laramie, 4 x 4 maxie cab, 6.7 cummins.

I have the same issue. All 2000+ songs on my 16gb thumb drive are MP3. The system only recognizes 231 songs. I am bummed. Gonna reformat the usb and reload the songs. Traveling across this great country soon. Must be corrected by then or gonna play all my songs via my android phone.
Thanks in advance, will post once the drive is reformatted!

Been through this with the wife's 21 Pacifica, uConnect 5. There is a Star bulletin about this, it's a known issue. SW update was suppose to be released for this in 4Q21, but that didn't happen. Still waiting. Wife is really likes her minivan, but is NOT happy about this issue.

I had a similar problem with my Ford Explorer. It would only recogninze like up to 250 songs or on a USB drive, so I had to load the songs into various folders with only 100 or 150 songs in each folder. Since I had to do it that way for the Explorer, I just made a duplicate USB stick for the Ram and it works fine. Might be worth a try.

Good ideas. I did a bunch of stuff like that trying to solve it on my own. Several different USB drives, different formats/sizes, music in all small folders, etc. I'm a techy, so figured it must be something like that. Turns out it is just another of the many issues uConnect 5 suffers from. Crazy that they are not working harder to get such an important part of the users experience working correctly.

Well, after reformatting, I plugged in the thumb drive while the truck was off. I had the radio on to my FM station. I patiently waited a couple of minutes. Once I pushed the USB button on the dash, Loaded all 2448 songs. All MP3.
I hope this helps everyone with this issue.

Sure does help. Mine are working fine in my 2016 Eco and my 2020 HO. If they ever stop seeing all the songs, I now know what works

What format did you use? Are your songs still in folders?

There is no folder, just the songs all in MP3. I formatted in the default (fat32). No matter what I tried, I could never get anything over 16 gb thumb drive to play (or even load correctly)
So try to load a 16. I did not want to push the button of adding more songs. 2000 + songs is enough. If I need more I can play from the 50 G from my phone. LOL...

Thanks, I had not tried the no folders approach. I'll give it a shot.

EDIT: Didn't work on the Pacifica uConnect5 system. Thanks anyway.

I have a similar situation. 2900+ songs on a fat32 formatted 64gb stick (have also tried a 32gb stick). When I plug it into the front of the radio to load onto the hard drive, a little over 2,000 are recognized and will download to the hard drive - .mp3's and .m4a's. If I put the stick in the USB port in the glove box, it recognizes every last song and will play them all. But, it won't let me transfer to the hard drive from the glove box USB. ???????
