I have the 6spd 65RFE in my RAM so it takes ATF 4+.
Usually I would buy the MoPar brand but I'm noticing now it is twice the price of the other brands.

SO, what are you guys running in the 6spd? No, don't need REDLINE or Royal Purple or anything like that.
I'm interested in best for the price.

From what I've read over the years, any fluid labeled atf +4 has to meet the spec so even the Walmart home brand fluid is as good as any.

ANY ATF 4+ will do the job as long as it meets spec for your Ram. don't waste your $$ on REDLINE, Royal Purple or Amsoil.
Walmart has super tech brand that meets spec for only $5.86 a quart.

Gotcha. Vavoline ATF+4 isn't that much expensive than the walmart brand. Will probably go for that.
I don't drive it much so I've been putting off the 100K maintenance that needs done but plan on getting all that completed soon.

I go to our local small-town Chrysler dealer and they'll sell it to me out of their bulk 55gal drum. I think last time I paid $4-some dollars a qt. Bring a couple cleaned and dry gallon milk jugs. Most of the car dealers in the small towns around here will sell any fluids out of their bulk drums and its really reasonable. And you know you're getting all the right stuff. Maybe call the parts guys in one of your local town Chrysler dealers and see what they say.

But as far as I understand it, it's probably all made by the same mfgr regardless who you buy it from. ATF +4 is a really highly refined transmission fluid. So if you buy the Walmart or Citgo product (reasonably priced) you should be fine.
