Yes. It didn't look that bad. The yellow hides them very well, until it doesn't. Was shocked at estimate.

That’s gotta be heart breaking. Break any glass? Guessing most was hood & roof.

So I searched the forum for a thread like this and didn't find anything. I figured it would be fun to have a thread that everyone can watch what everyone is doing each week.

This week I put on Steelcraft nerf bars, and right now I'm getting the permaplating put on the truck. This way it gets a real good bath.
I want to get it now.

Mine was hit by hail last year, if I remember right, it was like $7800. Adjuster was very generous on the numbers counted and still had to add more when repairs started. What was interesting was the discrepancies how the different estimates were going to go about fixing. Anyhow, I saw through the bull**** from dealer’s body shop and even a PDR shop. Went with a small shop that a local guy had started after he quit the insurance industry 15 yrs ago. Always support the smaller guy. He’s the one who said it all could be done PDR vs cutting top off. No way I was doing that if could avoid it. I was upset, but no way was I giving up this truck, come hell or high water.(there was initial talk of totaling over the phone). Anyway, all is well and truck looks new again.

Glad to hear it came out well. Expecting it to be damn near perfect

Looks great. Blackhorse was one of the top 3 choices I narrowed down to before getting mine.

Whats on the wish list next for you?
@Socalramfan: Probably going to do a wrap (either yellow or white - US flag or zombies probably, but might do something else - haven't decided) on the bed. Other things I'm kicking around in my head are blacking out the headlights/taillights or doing some engine bling from Billet Tech.

Got a few things to add in the last month or so, I got the Freedom Offroad rear lower control arms in and installed without much back muscle strain (I already have the track bar, still debating on the upper arms), got the AFE shorty headers in (and Remflex gaskets) and waiting on a ceramic coating company quote here locally before installing them. Most recently my son and I did the PowerStop Z36 kit front and rear with new DOT 4 fluid (old fluid was gross), then pulled the camper up the mountains for a camping/hunting weekend.

Installed diode dynamics ss6 sae driving ram kit. These lights are bright and focused down road. Way too bright to run at night around other vehicles.

At first I had created a harness that simply tied them into the ss3 fogs. After testing them around traffic, I went ahead and used the provided harness and switch so they are completely independent. View attachment 480503
Hiya wildrat - I’m looking to doing the same thing ss3 and ss6. Little bit of background, recently in a big rainfall, I simply couldn’t see the lanes in the road so that’s the reason.

question - for the ss3 - which ones did you get for the factory mount pods? Sport or pro? Any recommendation? It is my understanding that the pro maybe too bright and I’ve see some comments of oncoming drivers high beaming?

question 2 - for the ss6 the tow mount - did you get the driving or fog/wide option?

any regrets not getting the amber? And how do you like them in general, curious if you would have done anything different?

thanks in advance

Seeing as you want better visibility in rain, go with amber fogs in the ss6.

The ss3 would also need fog lens to use around other cars. Amber or white but amber is better in bad weather.

Sport, pro or max depends on how much you wanna spend. I used the white fog lens sports as my replacement fogs.
