I am trying to figure out what the difference is between the AlphaRex Pro Series and Luxx headlights. Looking at their site I don't see anything explaining what it is. But there is a $300 upcharge for the Luxx.

Can someone help me with this?

Depends which set but for the most part the Pro series I just normal halogen bulbs in the halogen projector and the Luxx series is a fully built-in LED projector optimized for the led chips installed in it.

Pretty much this-

Pro: Generic Halogen projectors (decent quality, but not the best) with super cheap halogen bulbs. Rest of the headlight is top quality, led boards, wiring, plastics, all are top notch.

Luxx: AlphaRex developed their own patented projectors with built in LED chip boards and they modified and tuned the led chips and the projector lens until it was fully optimized and at its best output for the parts used. The output is really good. Rest of the lights are the same or similar to the Pro series.

I had a set of custom built AlphaRex Pro series lights where I opened them up and replaced the basic halogen projectors with 4 Morimoto D2S 4.0 projectors with custom fabricated mounting brackets with 4 full 5500k D2S hid kits and then modified the upper + lower DRL sections with RGB switchback leds and then custom painted the whole thing. I had a TON of money into those lights, around $2,000 without the labor or custom fabrication (which I did myself) and I ended up swapping them out for the Luxx version because the output of the Luxx was slightly less then the output of the 4 D2S projectors, but the ease of install and maintenance on the Luxx was 100x better then 4 hid kits so in the end I chose the Luxx lights over a fully built set of headlights.

You should get the Luxx or you will regret it later on. If you can’t afford the extra $300, just wait and save until you have it. It will be worth the wait. You won’t have to deal with trying to find a good LED/HID bulb and then having issues with the kits involved with them or bulbs blowing, trucks computer having issues, etc. the Luxx come with the led boards built into the projector and they come programmed to work out the box with the Rams tricky computer. Super easy install.

Pro uses basic halogen bulbs and the Luxx uses LED. Light output will be better with the Luxx.

let us know if we can help we offer Alpharexx

So you’re saying it was 100% worth it? I have quads in my truck and have been bouncing between the G2s and the luxx I was just going to put them on my credit card for now so money isn’t really an issue, I just don’t know how big of a difference between the two would be. I just know currently I can’t see **** at night with the stock quads

Thank you for the information. So the Luxx it is but have a question. Do they come with LED's for the low/high? Or when you talk about the LED's are you just talking about the parking/turn signal lights? Would I not want to put HID's in the lower?

The luxx have built in LEDs for the low and high, the turns and the DRL they are essentially plug and play except you need to wire tap the fuse box for the DRL I believe. No bulbs are needed on the luxx series.

I just ordered them, am I gonna need two fuse taps? Or just one and wire the drl together and into the fuse tap?
Only need one. They come with a decent harness to connect to the drl on the lights. It's a 3 wire connection I believe, positive, negative on the battery and then the fuse tap for key on power.

Yeah I tapped into the F66 with a fuse tap and it works great, love these luxx lights now I’m just waiting until it’s dark to see exactly how bright they are and how much I need to adjust them

Are the LED's in the Luxx as bright as the HID's everyone says to put in the low beams?

I have these lights in and working except for the DRL's. I turned off the DRL's in Alpha because they used the turn signals to do so. I didn't want the white and yellow on at the same time.
I checked the wiring on my headlights and it is all correct. I tried to get them to turn on with fuse 46 and a couple other but they won't. If I tap the fuse tap on the positive battery post they light up like they are supposed to. When the headlights are on they work also. I had the DRL's turned on with Alpha ODB but it made the turn signal yellow lights to come on with the white on the top. Is there a way to turn them on with Alpha that would make them work correctly? Or something I'm missing with the fuse tap that I can try?

If your truck originally cam with Quad headlights, read through the link I posted above #12 on how to add the left and right DRL wiring so they'll work like factory. You would set them for Dedicated DRL and enable the Turn Signal Drop Out.
The truck with factory projectors already have the DRL wiring and just need to make the settings changes.

Mine came with projectors and I wired them up following the instructions. With the adapter harness I plugged in both sides of the DRL's and connected the harness to the battery. So are you saying I need to turn the DRL's on with alpha ODB? I didn't have them from the factory. What other settings do I need to set? I can turn them on but what do I put in where it ask which lights to use?

You want to use the "Dedicated" setting for the location.
A listing of the settings, it should even give you the ability to turn the DRLs On/Off through the radio.

DRLs: (Daytime Running Lights) For “Dedicated” DRLs (Rams with factory projectors) see post #7079
CBC Features: DRL Configuration
Select “Optional DRL”
CBC Features: DRL Lamp location (several to choose from, high beam, low beam, fog lamp, dedicated and SRT Light Bar) Known working high beam, low beam, turn signal and fog lamp.
CBC Features: DRL Dropout Enabled
Select “yes”
ECU 3: DRL Customer Setting Enable/Disable
Select “yes”
Customer Service Menus: Daytime Running Lights CSM
Select “yes”

There should be a wire coming out of the adapter harness for headlights that goes straight to the DRL wire, I think it wire is/was brown. Nothing needs to get connected to the battery or is any module required for the for the DRLs. The dedicated DRL circuits are in the wiring harness on the trucks that came with factory projectors, even if the headlight adapter doesn't have the wire you should be able to tap that wire directly.
