I’ve finally got around to installing my 1 7/8 ARH LTs with cats. I read in a few other posts about melted break lines etc so I get gently bent them away from the headers making sure not to crease or kink the steel tubing break lines. Big question though is what to do with the shift linkage to the trans? Seems no matter which way I try to shift it I’ve only got 2 or maybe 3 fingers worth of space between the headers and that linkage. Is that enough? I have some heat tape would it be worth it to wrap it?

Not going to hurt it that's for sure, you could even throw some header wrap on the headers in the vinicity of the cable.

I've found it easier to re-install the dipstick ,before you install all the header bolts and tighten the headers down. That little bit of header wiggle room helps, lol

Over all she’s sounds damn good. I did expect a bit more header noise upfront, it definitely quieter than expected. The borla S-type cat back has a very nice tune to it

Got the ported throttle body and vararam installed as well, have the trinity 2 tuner but it’s still in the box. Need to get that thing rolling. Probably tomorrow or the next day.

Top end rebuild in the future and depending on what I find there might be a cam going in there as well!!!

Did you use the ARH provided gaskets and bolts? Also did it come with all the o2 extensions?

I did use the provided gaskets and bolts. yes all of the o2 extensions were there, honestly the down streams would have reached without the extensions it would have just been a little tight.

This truck had broken manifold bolts at around 60kish miles and one was broken deep in the head so the dealership replaced the heads under warranty, always had a tick when coasting and driving near other vehicles/walls (noise bounced off them) when I pulled the manifolds they were about as warped as warped gets lol so they replaced the heads and didn’t plane the manifolds down. None of my bolts were snapped off this go around tho, the outside bolts were cranked down pretty damn tight and the centers were about normal….shady dealership work.

so i opted to unbolt the stock exhaust system to keep...just incase. only cut it in 1 spot right behind the crossmember (sob was not coming apart). i felt like that took the longest. putting the headers on and a full borla catback took about 7 hrs or so. which included bending some brake lines further away on drivers side and an orielys run for some heat tape for the trans linkage wire (was a little close for comfort) and new O2 sensors. just remember on the drivers side...put the oil dipstick back in before you tighten up the headers Lol....that made it sooo much worse for me. for just the headers about 75% of the work was through the wheel wells.

oh on the pass side i hand threaded the bottom bolts a few turns which made lining up the gasket and the header a breeze. drivers side i did the same thing but had to take out the 3 rear most, wasnt enough space or i couldnt figure out how to manipulate it past the steering linkage etc with them in. i recommend a small swivel ratcheting wrench for a couple of them bottom bolts.

On my ARH install all it took for the dipstick was a small bend a couple inches from where It enters the engine ,was able to get both brackets to bolt in the original place. About 8 hrs all in ,working pretty slow .

Just bend the oil dipstick's out of the way. No need to fight with it.

Ahh that does look like a nice route. I got mine situated between 3 and 4. She warms up a little bit but not to badly..never got the top bracket to fit so she’s zip ******* too for now until I feel like fighting it again.

I ordered some remfex gaskets to throw on instead of the supplied

Assuming you have a Crew or Quad cab how far past the cross member does the ARH connection go?

I.E. if I cut right after the factory "Y" pipe connection to the mid pipe will I have enough mid pipe left to connect to the ARH "Y" pipe?

I cut it a few inches past the crossmember, i reused my mid pipe, it had a few extra inches to spare that I had to shave off. My trucks the quad cab 4 door. If your mid pipe has some miles on it lol mine I had to grab a file and clean up the ends so they slid in pretty good.

sorry i re-ready your post about how far the ARH tubing goes past..im mid tear down for a cam swap or possibly more depending on what i find. ill grab a measuring tape and give ya a good number here in an hr or so. as for mid pipe length like i said above i had to shave some off of mine to make it fit between the ARH and Borla cat back so yes it should be long enough.
