Does anyone think if the pump goes out & the owner chooses to get it fixed on their own, that they will be reimbursed ?

It's been quite awhile (months) since they announced the overtightened lugnuts recall. I just got a notice yesterday that I could schedule to have the recall performed.
I can imagine they won't be ready for another 2 months or so. Maybe more. But atleast they're working on it and it will happen. Meanwhile there's Fords eating pumps and nothing is being done by them.
Agreed, a means to an end had got me excited to. I tried getting tyre dealership to do my lug nuts 2 weeks ago but they said still no parts available for the recall

There is a form to fill out for that exact scenario but it definitly adds another layer of complexity with things. What the approval odds are I don't know, I'm sure there is lots of criteria you have to meet based on how yours was fixed and with what parts exactly installed as compared to what fca uses

Quote from the notice if you already had a repair:
"Once we receive and verify the required documents, reimbursement will be sent to you within 60 days. If you have had previous repairs performed and/or already received reimbursement, you may still need to have the recall performed."

On several occasions, there has been a recall & the dealerships can't preform the recall, because someone up in Auburn Hills Michigan decided that each dealership could only get 1 or 2 parts a month.

It may be that the supplier can't produce the parts quick enough & there are a heck of a lot of dealerships.
I remember one recall where most of the dealerships only had 1 part, yet some other dealerships had 6

I just had my 2019 3500 HO DRW in for the studs and they measured every one and said nothing had stretched.
Took 1 1/2 hours.
also, on the fuel pumps, is the problem only on the HO's or all Cummins.

Well I checked the Mopar page for status and beyond belief it actually stated that the PARTS ARE AVAILABLE for recall Y78! I immediately called the dealer, they checked VIN, ordered the parts and said I should be able to have it done with the next couple weeks based on how fast they get here!

Yup same here. I'll call and schedule. Just called my local dealership and they ordered the parts. They said they'll call me once they get in to set up an appt. Any idea how long your parts kit will take to arrive at dealership? Screenshot_20220510-172145.png

From what I was told about a week. We'll see though. There seems to be a lot of confusion with the dealers on this, I don't get it.

I check my ram pg every morning and I dont know how I missed that parts available this morning, so I appreciate it. Hopefully within a couple weeks our parts will have arrived. Then we just have to hope they don't keep our truck for 6 weeks.

Yeah I check constantly too, two days ago it wasn't there. I read the factory instructions that got posted and it's a three hour job, of course excuses happen so we'll see.

I need to re read mine as well because I was going to schedule my fuel filters to be changed soon but it only makes sense to me that the filters would be required to be changed as part of the recall of the pump, am I right or wrong?

I have to do an oil change and filters too at 18% now. I’m not sure but gonna ask as well.

To Follow Up:
I spoke with the dealer today, and they have the kit, BUT the reflash for 2019 has not been released yet.

I also spoke with my dealer in detail this morning. They have not done one yet but they ordered the main replacement kit and said that there is another kit they will need to order only if when they get it Torn down it looks bad inside but won't know until then. He didn't feel comfortable for us to make an appt just yet because he said since this is there first recall job on this they have no idea how long it will take the parts to come in, a wk or a month . I told him my ram pg said parts were available now and He said it depends on availability and how many others are jumping on it as quick as we are. He read all the material and said this is going to be a big job sir, I replied with yup that's why with it being our only vehicle ill need a free loaner. Hopefully it only takes a wk to get there.

I had mine done yesterday. Dealer said it took about 7 hours to complete. First one they did. Happy it is repaired before Utv season and vacation time.

Can you give us a photo of the engine bay, injection pump area? (driverside of engine towards front) Curious to see what they did.
