Hello, new member here. I'd like to turn off MDS on my Hemi. I do not wish to performance tune my truck, so I don't want to spend a lot of money. I called Range and they are not making the MDS Manager for the Hemi because they can't get the components necessary to make them. Something like that. One possible solution, if anyone has a tuner sitting around that they don't need and will allow me to turn off MDS perhaps I can buy it from you. Thanks R BTW - I just had to have the lifters etc. on the driver's side repaired, fortunately my extended warranty paid for most of it. I don't want to have to do the other side some day, and we all know that day will come. I also spent a considerable amount on getting the cracked manifold studs fixed. TBH I am sick of this truck, it couldn't even make it to 100k without needing major repairs. I am very disappointed in Ram and these flaws that keep on repeating after you fix them. So turning off MDS seems like a step in the right direction.

You can deactivate the MDS by using the gear selector on the steering wheel, set it to 8th gear after you put it in drive assuming that you have the 8 speed transmission.

If you can find a tuner in your area that has a HP Tuner, it's just a flag to clear (at least on my '09). Credits are about $100 USD to purchase, so it shouldn't cost more than that for someone to do it for you. Unfortunately the module is a few hundred to have your own...

Thank you. I will see if I can find someone who has that tuner.

That is not helpful if you have to do it everytime you start the vehicle.

Seems to me you have to either turn a key or hit a button every time you want to start it,must be a real pain for you to start it then, lol. Adjusting the hvac controls must really drive you around the bend, lol. It's a button on the steering wheel that you can use your thumb on,it can't be that bad to do.
