I have a 40' fifth wheel camper. It is a 2013 Keystone Montana 3625re. We haven't used it in awhile. Sold the old dually. I'd like to buy a new non-dually 3500 for the camper but I'm not sure whether it will be ok with this big an rv. Will buy a dually if necessary. Can anyone help on this decision.

Specs:

Dry wgt. - 12,751
Payload Cap. - 3091
GVWR - 15,770
Hitch wgt. - 2270

There are litterlaly a Bazillion threads in the last 2 months alone on this exact topic. If you can't decide after reading through all that information, nothing more we say is going to clarify it. Short form SRW 3500 will be fine.

My 2021 6.4 3500 SRW pulls my 10,000 lb 35 foot 5the wheel keystone with no issues. The 8 speed works very well coming from a 6 speed 2017 3/4 ton ram. SRW will do fine.

Thank you for all your information. In the future I will try not to post repeditive questions which apparently annoy some people. Again, Thanks.

I may have been a little direct in my answer, but given the lack of repsonses, all I did was say what so many others are thinking. I and a couple of others also answered your question quite clearly, so I really don't see much for you to be unhappy about. If my comment distressed you, you might just be a little to delicate for social media.:)

I have had both type of trucks, while rving with my fifth wheels over the years... and a dually with that size of RV isnt a bad idea at all. But going thru the many campgrounds, I see a ton of SRW 3500 trucks towing big rigs all the time. Honestly I see 2500s towing larger rigs that I would think is prudent, but its being done all the time.

My dad had a '16 3500 SRW CTD (with Aisin) and towed a 45' 5er that tipped the scales at almost 16K.

He never had an issue and the truck towed it without any problems.
