can the sparks really travel far enough from the road to start a fire. I have seen this from trains because weeds and grass often grow right up to the tracks. but yes, good idea to dbl. check everything before getting on the road. I also do a walk-around at every stop just to make sure all is good.

Good point. I always keep mine off the ground but never really thought about the sparks causing a wildfire.

The State owned roads are cut quite often during the hot months, they do that mostly because of Catalytic Converters

Matches burn at 600°-800°F
Cats burn at 1,200 to 1,600 degrees F.

If you drive out to the local Park, the grass along the road is close to knee high
