I was out yesterday and noticed that the aluminium trim piece at the tailgate end of my Gator trifold was sticking out to the side by about 3 inches. I think someone slid it out to gain access to the pull cable to unlock the cover? I assume someone wants my cover? Has anyone come up with a method to prevent someone from sliding out the trim piece by the tailgate? I was thinking about drilling the track and either using SS machine screws or a cotter pin to prevent the trim from being pushed out.

Shoot, people will steal anything. I’m in the market for one and I’m going with the diamond plate cover It seems for now. Will see if I change my mind before I pull the trigger. They would need to steal the truck to get the cover.

Although I don’t know your cover - it seems appropriate to secure it the way you are recommending but a cotter pin, or some sort of serviceable pin makes more sense to me. Also, consider talking to the manufacturer. I bet your not the only guy with this issue.
