Hi,
I have a 2015 Ram with a 5.7L. It has 102k miles on it. It had the hemi tick and I replaced all of the lifters. I was lucky. One of the lifters I removed, the bearings on the roller where starting to fail. The cam looked good and it was not removed.
The truck started and went into high idle. Shortly after high idle it will surge and stall out. The engine will stay running if I give it gas and hold at 1500rpms.
I get codes for both o2 sensor banks and codes for running rich on both banks.
Today I swapped out the MAP sensor, removed the intake and torqued the intake to spec. I was extremely careful and slowly tightened the intake a few turns on each bolt to get it squarly seated.
There is no water in the oil. I cleaned the head and gasket surfaces. I followed the torque sequence for the head bolts. I replaced the head bolts and all gaskets are new.
I cannot find a vacuum leak. I have sprayed the intake with carb cleaner to see if the rims increase. nothing.
I don't know where to go next. I may be pulling everything apart again to look everything over.

It really does sound like a vacuum leak, I think this not just for the poor idle, but the codes as well....o2 sensors and the running rich. Computer very well could be trying to adjust fuel to compensate for leak. This is just an educational guess with out actually being there. Take a break, go back to it with a fresh mind.

I will check the pvc and the map sensor first. Then I will remove the intake to see if it's cracked or anything.

Well gentlemen I found the issue. The rear passenger exhaust push rod was not seated on the lifter. The exhaust valve was not opening. It is a common issue for some. Thank you for the help.
