Ok , looking for a little feed back on this, "16" 2500 5.7 cclb factory 3 inch single exhaust.
I just scored a new 6 year old factory 3 inch in, 2.5 inch out dual exhaust muffler.
Looking for factory pipes and tips. My question is does the stock system I am putting together, does it have a nice rumble or am I going to need to remove the resonators?
Thanks in advance. Brian

normally the factory duals are 2.25" before you start buying exhaust clamps haha
I would consider the stock muffler pretty tame but the factory duals do sound much better than the factory single. maybe 1 less set of baffles in the muffler. ok tone but still not loud. you could leave out the resonators if you wish and get big tips. most people say big tips deepen the tone.
make sure to take pictures/video and post them here! :favorites13:

Has anyone used an exhaust from MPI exhaust technologies? I have seen a video of them on youtube. They seem to understand exhaust technology in general and specific to Ram trucks. I was wondering about feedback from anyone that runs their exhausts.

Also curious on this, I have heard the S-type and it sound loud (but good).

I think and muffler other than stock will be loud with headers, just the nature of adding Long tubes.

I am torn with keeping the Corsa and maybe adding a mid resonator to tame down the rasp a bit or selling it for a Borla touring to keep the noise down with headers.

thats kind of where i am at...in a holding pattern. pretty sure my ARH LTs show up tomorrow but i havent gotten my cat back yet. on borlas website they have the sound comparison, but im sure thats without headers and its difficult to gauge how loud they are....

basically i dont want to shake my neighbors windows 4 houses down and attract every cop in a 3 sq mile radius every time i cold start or put my foot into it on the freeway lol...love the tone of the S-type tho

If your set on Borla go touring, BUT, it will still be loud with headers lol.

If I don't like how the Corsa sounds with my 1 3/4 catted ARH's I will either go with the ARH or Borla touring catback.

I have a feeling cold starts with the Corsa and headers will be very loud, no sneaking around at night or early morning for sure.
(but there will be no drone so I would really have to weigh that part)

Looking for some feedback here. I just bought a 2012 Ram 5.7 Outdoorsman. From what I can see it has just a single muffler single Exhaust tip. Looking everywhere I only see the muffler with 2 out which mine is not. I know I am wanting to go with Flowmaster 40 series. Not stuck on needing to change everything up. Closest thing I have seen someone post on another forum what they did was keep it stock looking and Replaced Y-Pipe with Magnaflow #10778, Replaced Muffler with Magnaflow #13259, and Removed Resonator. Was really hoping to go with Flowmaster but seems everything would have to get changed out? Not sure why they went just single muffler, single exhaust tip on these series.

all you need is a 3 inch in/out muffler of your choice. they do sell direct fit replacements maybe not directly from flowmaster though.
I have used totalflow (single chamber) flowmaster replicas on this and my last ram and am very satisfied with the quality. probably better than some actual flowmasters. I believe they make direct fits for the rams.
If you're in Canada definitely go see lyles site they make some great stuff (with direct fit for ram)

Does anyone have any idea how bad the drone would be with doing a muffler delete but keeping the stock resonator on a '16 ram 2500 5.7?

Have a 2016 1500 reg. cab long box, 5.7, 6 Spd. auto., 3.55's, 2wd. I did some research and I picked a K&N cold air system, they made 4 different ones. I chose the 63 Series (they all look similar). Called K&N they said the 63 series is the only one NOT carb compliant and it was a clean and reoil type. It produced the best HP/TQ numbers at the rear wheels. The Exhaust I chose was the MBRP cat back (S5142409) single tail pipe - only $489 - and it is Stainless. Two tail pipes added a lot more$. Sound was listed as moderate. If you are just cruising as in cruse control you almost can't hear it, NO DRONE AT ALL, but step into it and sounds nice (at least to me as all is objective). Unless at a drag strip you can not feel the power difference only a clock can determine it. But in first tank of fuel got a 2.2 MPG increase over stock (also single tail w/resonator).
As side note Loud DOES NOT = HP. Open headers are loud but increases in HP/TQ. mostly occur at upper RPM's where most Street vehicles are NOT driven, Heck at 75 MPH my 2016 is only turning 1900 RPM. Exhaust systems do more than muffle they also help to draw fuel mixture into the cylinders to increase volumetric efficiency, making the fuel do more work. (read more MPG). Build your vehicle to do what you want it to do. My 66 sounds scary and nasty, and starts to make serious power around 2900 RPM (at or over 600lbft from there to 7,000 RPM) and only gets single digits for MPG doing it. My Ram if I live on cruise control is doing 18+ around town 21 interstate speeds. Two different vehicles each with a different purpose, but the same operator. Unless the wife is driving! then the MPG go right down the chitter, as she like to HEAR IT.
JUST INFO not a criticism.
