How do I shut off the anti-theft alarm on my 02 1500? If the alarm goes off or the panic button is accidently hit the only way I can et the alarm to shut off is disconnecting the neg battery clamp for a second then putting it back on. There has got to be a better way. I tried driving over 15 mph - no good, hitting various button on the fob - no good. Any Ideas? Sidenote-it is a aftermarket FOB.

I too have after market fobs, and sometimes the alarm goes off when I open a door even though I've used the fob, but so far when I hit the open button again it usually quiets the alarm. Not sure why yours doesn't do that.

Yea I've experienced the alarm going off when opening the door too, but for some reason nothing I do will shut off the alarm using the FOB, I end up having to get in open the hood and discon the battery, I even went so far as to buy and install a quick release neg battery clamp

If its factory alarm it should shut off when you start it. If its a non factory alarm I would remove it they are normally trash.

I hit the panic button on accident (factory alarm, original fob), nothing stopped it even hitting unlock button, opening door with key, starting the truck, I disconnected the battery but it started right up when reconnected. Hitting the panic button a couple more times finally shut it up. I've never had so much trouble lol and in broad daylight at Lowe's.
