Have a new to me, 2005 power wagon. Looking for some suggestions on the suspension. Passenger side rear spring is sagged out. What options do I have for factory replacement? Or is it cheaper or better to get elsewhere? I don’t necessarily need added capacity. But I am also not rock crawling with the truck. So I guess factory 2500 springs would be fine? But do factory ones fit? Also, replacing shocks. They are factory Bilstein. Which ones do I buy to replace? The 5100 that are meant for a 2” lifted 2500? I’m in Canada. Thanks for the help.

Cool truck! If you need replacement springs, why not upgrade to a softer spring at the same time? You can get leveling springs from cjc off-road. Finding brand new power wagon only springs will probably be the same price as the aftermarket ones and they won’t ride as nicely.

If you put non power wagon units back in the truck would sit considerably lower. I would either find factory replacements, or something aftermarket that is for a power wagon.

Re-arching might be an option due to so few 3rd generation Power Wagons were manufactured. This shop provides that service.

Or custom fabrication at this shop which is the finest on the planet. Grand Junction, CO.

That’s what I don’t want. I don’t want it lower. I don’t mind a little stiffer spring.

Dang you are right. Well I believe cjc sells something for the rear as well. Pw sits 2” higher than a non pw 2500 so I believe those would only raise the rear by 1”

I emailed them and the first response was long travel Thuren springs and adding longer rear shocks. I don’t know if he misread that I have a power wagon or that those add height. I want factory height. Or close to it.

There is a local shop that I’ll take the truck to for a peak. As far as mopar is concerned, the springs are discontinued. And the local shop said the same. But maybe they can re arc them. I just wasn’t sure if regualr 2500 ones would maintain height and just be stiffer. If the height was just in spacer blocks.

Al can was the other company I couldn’t remember the name of. Thanks

Here’s a photo of the suspect spring.

Your welcome. Good luck.

The Grand Junction spring shops that I listed I'm not familiar with and have never been to, but it was just an idea. Otherwise, there's no major city around here for 200 miles with spring shops. Figured that the PW springs were not available on your year.

I put helper springs on my 1998 K1500's leafs due to it was really sagging under both tow hitch weight and hauling after 300,000 miles of use. That really helped it under load. Handles it better than my Power Wagon.

What’s strange is the part number provided by a dodge dealer, shows it’s for 2006-2009 st,slt,Laramie, power wagon, Trx and for 2005 it lists all but the power wagon. I’m fine with soft springs of the power wagon, I can add airbags for heavier stuff. But I know what your saying.

Maybe this author knows if there were any differences between the 2005 to 2009 Power Wagons. Based on his stated 2,660 pound payload capacity those earlier models might not have had such softer springs as today's Power Wagons.

The 3rd gens rear leaf springs/front 5 link setup actually was much more flexy than the current front radius arm/rear coil setup in my opinion. Yet, they still seemed to handle weight in the rear better.

I’m getting a response of long travel springs with less capacity than stock. Not interested in that. Maybe I just need to ask them more questions. And I’m told I need their shackles and longer shocks because of the travel. I’m told it won’t lift a power wagon. It’ll keep stock height. But then told I need shocks because of increased travel.

While I’m here, does anyone know what replacement front shocks fit? I can’t find any specs and the front on there now aren’t stock. Even collapsed and extended lengths of factory. 24-185776 is a Bilstein number for 2” lift shocks for a regular 2500.
